"An Tigin" simply means "The little house" in Gaelic. An Tigin is an idyllic cottage dating back to the 1700's with walls almost 3 feet thick and nestled amongst it's own little woodland setting. This cottage offers extreme comfort and cosines.

The cottage has two bedrooms upstairs with two single beds in one and a double in the second. The double room is equipped with a TV and DVD player. There is great Wi-Fi in the house also.

All bed linen is 250 thread count 100% cotton & duvets are "spundown" anti allergy, very light but toasty warm!

Downstairs there is a modern kitchen with a new cooker with oven and grill, new dishwasher, fridge, toaster, kettle, cafetiere & a nespresso coffee machine. There is a stereo system with an ipod dock for your music & also free to air satellite TV.

A seperate utility room is off the kitchen with freezer and microwave oven, Washing Machine, tumble dryer, Iron etc. There is a lovely and well appointed family bathroom with a bath and a separate power shower.

If you have small children or a baby, we have a travel cot with an extra padded mattress for comfort. A bed guard to prevent any smallies from falling out of bed. A stair gate for the top of the stairs & a door at the bottom making it very safe for kids. Also, we have a high chair.

The cottage has oil fired central heating and also a beautiful wood burning stove in the kitchen which gives incredible heat on the coldest of winter nights.

Oustide is a beautiful walled patio area surrounded by flowers & fresh herbs. It is a sun trap and there is a table & chairs & parasol for you to enjoy a BBQ in the summer.

This cottage will not suit people who do not like dogs as we have two very friendly springer spaniels who love children and may occasionally pop over to say hello. They will not be a nuisance as long as you are not giving them tasty treats!

The property is fully equipped with all you would need for a romantic break, family holiday, sailing or golfing trip.

To the south and west of the county the region know as West Cork , boasts a wild and rugged coastline of rocky headlands, great bays and secret coves warmed by the Gulf Stream.

The remote westerly region of West Cork has become a popular destination for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a slower pace of life around small, rural fishing villages and towns, amid some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Ireland.

"Fabulous week in the most idylic, relaxing and friendly setting"

This cottage is in a perfect location, close enough to local amenities and local bars etc but also nicely tucked away to have your own private holiday. We stayed for a week in Kinsale and the weather was lovely, the cottage had everything we needed and the owners are right next door and couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The place has a real charm about it and if anyone is a 'dog lover', they have 2 cocker spaniels who just love to come and say hello if you're in the garden. There is plenty to do in and around Kinsale and with a car you can travel even further to Blarney castle, Killarney national park and various other sites. This was a lovely min break away and we will definitely be visiting again in the future.

"A little piece of heaven"

We have stayed here over the years many times and it is my little piece of heaven. My children love going and when my son was younger he thought it was Spain as every time we visit the weather is great. The beach is a short stroll from the cottage. Every year they have made improvements with the guest comfort in mind. The cottage is my home away from home with all home comforts. Fridge, freezer, washing machine & dryer etc. A wide range of facilities are available at the Oysterhaven Activity Centre. Windsurfers, dinghies and canoes are available for rental on an hourly basis. Under 10 km to Kinsale with a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Approximately 25km to Cork City. Something for everyone and a great chill out break.
