The county town, Kinross, is situated at junction 6 on the M90 providing easy access from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, St. Andrews, Dundee and Perth.

Known as the gateway to the Highlands, Kinross-Shire nestles around Loch Leven where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567 on Castle Island. The loch is a magnet for bird watching, stunning walks or wonderful food in one of the many local restaurants, cafes and farm shops.

Local festivals/events include Edinburgh Film Festival (June), Royal Highland Show (June) T in the Park (July), Kinross Agricultural Show (August) and Edinburgh Fringe (August) among others. Knockhill Racing Circuit is less than 5 miles away and features many events throughout the year including British Super Bike in June.

Places of interest: Stirling Castle, Edinburgh Castle, Botanic Gardens, Crieff Distilleries, Scone Palace, Scotland Secret Bunker, Deep Sea World, Active Kid, Fife Animal Park, Blair Drummond Safari & Adventure Park, Edinburgh Butterfly and Insect World, Edinburgh Zoo, Kinross Golf Course, St. Andrews Golf Course, Rumbling Bridge, Falkirk Wheel, Kinross Gliding Centre to name but a few. Kinross, Scotland

Turn left out of the farm and within a 5 minute drive the village Crook of Devon offers a village shop, pub, garage and stunning fabric shop. Go a further 5 minutes and you reach Dobbies Garden World with its own café.

Turn right to gorgeous views of Scotland passing Powermill Milk Bar - a café with additional gift centre. Rumbling Bridge is located opposite and offers a short trail by foot in the peaceful countryside.

Head off to Kinross (approx. 6miles) and you will find a high street off shops as well as a Sainsbury's, Co-operative, post office, chemist and banks. Within 25 miles you will find a number of out of town shopping centres for that little bit of retail therapy.
