The Tayside/Perthshire region

This region has a contrasting landscape of lochs, mountains, forests and coastline and it's therefore no coincidence that it's one of the most popular holiday destinations in Scotland. Its popularity is easy to understand when you consider the mouth watering attractions within its boundaries; which include the beautiful Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in the west and the wonderful forests, mountains and rivers which are characteristic of Tayside and Perthshire to the east. The city of Stirling can also be found in this area, with its rich historical significance in Scottish history and connections to William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. The beautiful and unique coastlines here, both on the west coast and east coast, are ideal holiday destinations. Stretching in the west from Oban in the north down to Strathclyde and the Ayr coast, and in the east the coast extends from Dundee and Angus south the along the Fife coast to Edinburgh.

Kinross, Scotland

The Crook of Devon is in the heart of Scotland, close to Loch Leven, as well as the Ochil hills and Cleish Hills. Leven is lowland Scotland's largest loch and is an important site for much bird life, particularly migrating geese at autumn time. Nearby Kinross House provides a more ordered view of nature, where visitors can enjoy some of Scotland's most pleasant formal gardens. The town of Dunfermline is just 14 miles away. This is the place where famous American entrepreneur Andrew Carnegie was born and there is a museum in his honour there. For golf enthusiasts, Gleneagles and St Andrews are within 14 and 23 miles respectively, while Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh, with its cosmopolitan attractions and rich history, is half an hour drive from here.
