The Scottish Highlands region
Balgowan House is situated in a beautiful rural setting in The Cairngorm National Park, with spectacular views across the Spey Valley towards the Monodliath Mountains. The Cairngorm National Park is the largest National Park in Britain, with mountains, pine-clad slopes, remote lochs and wide river valleys. It has much of the ancient Caledonian Forest and the high mountains, tundra, rocky passes, moorland and lochs host a huge variety of wildlife, including the Golden Eagle and Osprey.
The park has attractions for visitors throughout the year, ranging from attractive towns and villages along the river valleys to walking, watersports, golf, mountain biking, climbing and skiing.
The Kingussie area
Kingussie and Newtonmore, 7 and 6 miles respectively from Balgowan, are small towns with a good selection of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The Highland Folk Museum and Waltzing Waters are in Newtonmore and a little further afield (15 miles) is the Highland Widlife Park, where you can see animals ranging from the polar bear, lynx and amur tiger to the wolf, yak and bison. The Landmark Forest Adventure Playground - 30 miles away - has a wealth of attractions for the whole family, including a watercoater, skydive, treetop trails and minicars.

We had stayed at Balgowan House for a long weekend in February.
The house is very well appointed and comfortable, with modern decoration and has clearly been well designed and looked after,
It has a games room, BBQ, large dining room and plenty of parking.
The house is well situated looking out over the surrounding countryside.
Definitely worth a visit!

Balgowan is very spacious and immaculately clean house, It was ideal for our family and friends get together, The bedrooms allowed for those with children to be together in the one room withoout compromising on space. The large garden is fantastic. The neighbours were a little closer than I expected but it was a great addition, as it kept the girls entertained watching the horses.
The caretakers were very helpful when we required assistance.
Looking forward to going back later in the year.
