Balnacraig Lodge

The ultimate place for your stay in the Cairngorms National Park

Recently graded by Scottish Tourist board as a 4 star self catering property

This two-storey Lodge has a large lounge, with a 64” flat screen HD TV with Freesat and DVD player. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is provided. The lounge has full-length windows to admire the sunsets and views. The lounge is comfortably furnished with a large leather corner couch and the large windows give you great views of the gardens (and wildlife, deer are regularly seen walking through the gardens). There is a cosy wood burning stove for winter evenings in the lounge and the logs are provided for this. Read more about the lodge facilities here.

There is an open plan dining kitchen with gas hob, 3 ovens, microwave, dishwasher. There is an adjacent utility room with washing machine, sink and tumble drier. Outside drying facilities are also available. Large French doors lead to a magnificent deck, BBQ area Hot tub and play equipment. The deck is south facing with a great view to Craig Dhu and insh Marshes.

The Bedrooms

There is one bedroom on the ground floor, a Double with an en-suite shower room which also serves as the downstairs toilet and shower when using the hot tub. There is a separate door directly from the hot tub to this shower room.

Three further bedrooms are on the upper floor. The large master super king-size bedroom features a beautiful en-suite shower room. This large bedroom also has a unique window down to the living room below. At the opposite end of the house are two smaller family rooms, consisting of two single beds in each with ample storage.

At the top of the stairs between the two smaller bedrooms is the bathroom with full size bath and shower head, toilet and sink. This is used by these two rooms. The bedrooms sleep in total up to 8 people +1, a cot can also be fitted in either the master bedroom upstairs or in the double room downstairs.

Hot Tub and Garden

This detached Lodge features a luxurious outdoor Hot Tub, (towels for this are not included)which allows you to relax and soak in the peace and quiet of your surroundings. There is also a BBQ area which is the perfect location to enjoy Al Fresco Dining. Its peaceful location allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy watching the local wildlife as deer and red squirrels forage in the garden.

Oil and Electricity are not included.However firewood is provided for free!

I will unfortunately not be able to meet you as I do not live nearby. However I have very capable housekeepers who are responsible for The Lodge and guests. Just before your stay I will email you the housekeepers name and mobile number so that you can contact her to meet you if you would prefer this or if you have any problems or general questions you would like answered. I will also send you the key box number so that you can access the key for the front door on your arrival.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Andrew & Linda (the owner) a message.

If Andrew & Linda (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
