This fisherman’s cottage has been completely modernized in the last year and has a light airy ‘seaside cottage’ feel.

Enter through a traditional storm porch into the living room. A large window to the front gives plenty of natural light, whilst the brick fireplace with open coal effect gas fire oozes rustic charm. The décor is light and inviting.

Leading through from living room is a quaint dining area with a wood burning stove, solid wood table and five chairs with matching dresser. Walk through to the fully fitted kitchen. The white cabinets offset the solid wood worktops – simple elegance! The kitchen contains: a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, cooking and dining utensils.

Located behind the kitchen is modern bathroom with white suite and shower.

Travel upstairs and find two bedrooms; one double and one twin. Both decorated to give a light and fresh feel.

To the rear of the cottage is a secluded garden with lawn and seating. Just perfect for sitting out with a glass of wine by day, or eating al fresco by night!

The cottage has gas central heating. There is a supplement for gas and electricity from October to March. Bed linen and towels are included but please bring beach towels.

About this location

The Kent region

Explore the beautiful Kentish coastline with its stunning scenery and historial buildings and landmarks. The neighbouring town of Sandwich offers an ancient port, quaint boutiques and river cruises. For the more energetic visitor, there are a multitude of cycle and walking opportunities as well as water sports, golf and fishing. In fact however you like to relax and unwind, this is certainly the place to do it!

Deal is full of old buildings and many have an extensive smuggling heritage. Under the town is a warren of smugglers tunnels - often leading to local churches! The character in the town comes from the almost random styles and eras of houses all put together. Looking back at the town from the end of the pier gives a good impression of the rich history of the town. Many of the original buildings from the 1800's are still visible.

Deal Castle is one of the finest artillery works in England; this fortress once carried 119 guns. Now in the care of English Heritage, this castle offers exciting battlements, dark passages and a huge basement to explore. Deal Pier, built in 1954 the pier was the first seaside pleasure pier of any size to be built since 1910.

"Comfortable but getting tatty around the edges"

The cottage was comfortable and the beds were excellent. The stairs were narrow and steep which is why I wouldn't recommend it to elderly holiday makers or those with young children. The cottage … More

"Very nice cottage - we loved to stay and will come back"

We have visited Kingfischer Cottage during July 2012. The cottage is equiped with all necessary things to manage some days off. The furniture is lovely, the house is tidy and clean. You just walk across the street and find the beach und some local pubs. We stayed with two children (6y and 9y), and it was enough room for all of us.
