We've been visiting "Devon Holiday Retreat" for over 30 years, so feel well qualified to comment on this super holiday home, with its friendly and helpful owners. The house ofers all the practicality and benefits of a modern home, yet is in an excellent, peaceful location at the end of a cul-de-sac, on the edge of the village. There are lovely rural views and a sun-trap, south facing garden where we've even lunched on the patio in Februrary as it's so sheltered. The house is comfortable and well equipped, ideal for either a couple or a family, and we've always found it spotlessly clean on arrival. There's a wide range of scenic walks nearby, including the beautiful south-west coastal path, and lots of safe, family-friendly beaches within a few mjinutes' drive. Malborough is an ideal holiday location; situated just a short drive in one direction from the characterful market town of Kingsbridge and, in the other direction, there's an equally short drive to reach the lovely yachting centre of Salcombe, from where you can take a ferry trip to the other side of the estuary (great fun for small children) to some lovely sandy beaches and cliff walks. Both towns have a wide choice of eating places and lots of independent shops.. In Malborough itself, there's a well-stocked shop just a few minutes walk from the house and a couple of friendly local pubs which serve good food. All in all, this is an ideal place for a really relaxing holiday. We highly recommend it. |
