The Bakehouse is at Hope Barton Barns which is comprised of a selection of converted stone barns surrounding two courtyards, together with a traditional farmhouse, offering superb, family and pet friendly self catering holiday accommodation on a 35 acre working farm in South Devon.

This Spring week is offered at below half its' usual tariff.

The Bakehouse has its own entrance conveniently positioned for the swimming pool and the children's playbarn. The tasteful conversion is traditionally furnished with comfortable sofas and handmade beech and oak furniture. It has been beautifully converted to a three bedroomed cottage with downstairs bedrooms, upstairs lounge and kitchen, and a delightlful gallery third bedroom which has south facing views. And it has dishwasher, microwave, digital television and Wi-fi and a full provision of linen and towels. There is a double sofa bed to accommodate extra guests and additional bedding is available. Cots, high chairs and stair gates are available. There is a wealth of interesting places to visit, and lovely coastal walks in Hope Cove and along the South Devon beaches. The nearest towns are Kingsbridge and Salcombe, both interesting to visit.

Children love coming to Hope Barton as they can be free to enjoy the farm, countryside and beach. The indoor swimming pool is heated to 30 degrees. There is a tennis court children's play area and a trout lake for fishing. The bar is open most evenings and on Mondays a wonderful dinner is provided at very reasonable cost. Also on Wednesday evening there is a light supper and bar skittles competition.

Hope Barton is an idyllic place. There are endless walking possibilities and it is a dog owners paradise. Several lovely golf courses are within easy reach and so are many good restaurants and pubs for eating out. Or you can bring in a farm cooked meal.

"The Bakehouse provides the perfect holiday in a beautiful setting"

I have been returning every year to Hope Cove for 14 years now and can't recommend it highly enough. The setting of Hope Barton Barns, of which the Bakehouse is just one property, - a rural valley a five-minute walk away from the sea and the lovely village of Hope Cove, but tucked away from the wind - is lovely. The buildings themselves are very attractive - the old farmhouse and its barns have all been converted into very comfortable accommodation. I go every year with a big family party, and the living/dining rooms are very generously sized.

It's a great place to go with young children - there's a nice indoor swimming pool on site, plus animals, a little lake, etc. There's also a little shop on site where you can stock up on milk, bread, papers and lots of home-made jams, lemon curd, etc. We always end up taking home as many pots as we can carry!

Basically, if you're looking for classy, comfortable accommodation on this very beautiful stretch of coast, it is definitely a must to book into the Bakehouse.
