Nestling in a tranquil position on the edge of the glorious unspoilt village of Kingston, 3 Gabberwell is a beautiful and comfortable cottage in an idyllic location in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Warm and welcoming at all times of the year, the cottage is sensitively renovated and freshly decorated, retaining many of its original features and provides off-road parking for two cars..
Surrounded by stunning open countryside, working farms and miles of beautiful coastline and estuaries which are havens for birds and wildlife, 3 Gabberwell (incorrectly spelt Gaberwell on the OS Map) forms one end of a row of three pretty 300-year-old cottages on a quiet and secluded leafy lane.

Accommodation for one or two families sleeping up to seven (please note some low lintels). The accommodation comprises:
- Attractive Sitting Room with new woodburner, comfortable sofas, books, fine Welsh dresser and TV with BT Vision package supplying YouView TV plus broadband wifi and landline payphone
- Play Room (games/toys, TV/DVD)
- Dining Room seating eight
- Well-equipped fitted Kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, hob, oven and microwave with butler sink, tiled floor and back lobby to garden
- Spacious Ground floor shower room (wet-room suite with wc and sink etc).

- Double bedroom with window seat and meadow views, 5' King Size bed with a Feather & Black mattress and white goose down duvet plus an electric blanket for those winter nights

Picturesque and characterful, 3 Gabberwell is an easy stroll from the cottage into the prize-winning village. The Dolphin Inn, just 600 yards away, is a 16th century olde worlde country pub, serving home cooked food using local produce. There is a circular 2-hour walk from the pub encompassing woodland, the estuary, the coast path and farmland, and giving easy access to the stunning South Devon coastline. Kingston with its thatched cottages, is just one mile from the lovely Erme Estuary and Wonwell beach and within a few miles of three golf courses. The location is close to tourist beaches with surfing and windsurfing facilities. Fishing trips can also be arranged from the Erme.

The Devon region
The South Hams is a region of rural and coastal South Devon in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To the north the South Hams stretch to the edges of Dartmoor National Park, while to the south it covers one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline the UK from Torbay to Plymouth. With a strong rural and maritime heritage the South Hams is noted for is quality local food, culture, and scenic landscape.
If you love the outdoors, you'll love The South Hams. It's a wonderful outdoor environment, with rivers, moor land, coasts and the sea offering visitors a range of activities including canoeing, walking and sailing. Heritage fans will love local attractions such as Totnes Castle and The South Devon Railway and a range of arts and food festivals keeps culture-vultures happy throughout the year. For the nautically inclined the coast has a big tradition of sailing regattas and arts events.
The West Country is one of the most important producers of food and drink in the UK, noted for its quality and traditional methods. Here you'll be treated to some of the best fine dining using locally made produce. For seafood, towns such as Dartmouth Salcombe and Kingsbridge boast award-winning restaurants, while inland gastro pubs serve excellent home cooked fare.
Picturesque and characterful, 3 Gabberwell Cottages is a short stroll from the prize-winning village of Kingston where many of the beautiful and historic cottages and houses are thatched. Kingston is an unspoilt village lying between Dartmoor and the sea.
The population of around 400 (currently including over 80 children) has stayed much the same for 200 years. Kingston is a working village, less than a third of the population are retired. It is surrounded by working farms and miles of beautiful coastline and estuaries which are havens for birds and wildlife.
The parish is in the middle of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the village includes two conservation areas. The National Trust owns farmland and coastline in Kingston. There is a thriving and active community and the Dolphin Inn, just 600 yards away, is a 16th century olde worlde country pub, serving home cooked food using local produce. There is a circular 2-hour walk from the pub encompassing woodland, the estuary, the coast path and farmland, and giving easy access to the stunning South Devon coastline.
Kingston is just one mile from the lovely Erme Estuary and Wonwell beach and within a few miles of three golf courses. There are many stunning walks in the area. Fishing trips can also be arranged from the Erme. Wide sand and rocky beaches on either side of the estuary of the river Erme. Privately owned but open to the public, these are beautiful and usually less busy beaches set within gentle tree covered cliffs. They are ideal for swimming, windsurfing, picnics and general relaxing. Dogs are allowed on parts of the beach. Mothecombe has the Marine Conservation Society Award, as well as parking and toilets.

We're pleased that Heather and her party found 3 Gabberswell to be a 'very comfortable and attractive cottage' and delighted that she would recommend it to her best friend. We're very proud of all the 5 star reviews received to date and so naturally we are very sorry to hear of her concern about Penny visiting the property with a workman during the holiday week. This is a very rare occurrence (we live a 220 mile round trip away from the cottage) and the visit was made to make some enhancements, and to clarify the operation of some of the amenities, following a phone call from Heather the previous evening. We tried several times to contact Heather to confirm Penny's time of arrival but without success. Penny was pleased to meet up with Heather at the property and enjoyed an amiable meeting with her and her party, so was rather surprised to subsequently read the comment in her review. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and can reassure Heather that we would not have gone ahead with the visit if we had anticipated that she would have any concerns about a workman attending to matters at the cottage in Penny's presence. Our only reason for attending was to ensure the best possible holiday experience for our guests. We hope that Heather will book with us again!
