The West Country / Devon region
Devon has long been a favourite destination for British holidaymakers, with perfect beaches and great walking. Dartmoor and Exmoor are remote and unspoilt, with ancient remains scattered across the moor land. Devon is also home of the ‘British Riviera’ – Torquay, Paignton and Brixham offer traditional seaside breaks complete with tearooms, arcades and the local speciality of clotted cream and scones.
Beautiful South Hams, the English Riviera. Unspoilt beaches, dramatic coastal walks.
Kingsbridge / South Hams area
Shopping in Kingsbridge and Totnes, Sailing at Salcombe. Walking on Dartmoor. The dartmouth Summer regatta is fantastic. For the Kids, Woodlands Adventure park and Sorley Tunnel (for riding, animal farm & fun) are within close proximity. Golf and Surfing at Bigbury on Sea. Ice skating, indoor swimming pool and dry ski slope in Plymouth.
Beach at Wonwell 1 mile. More fine sandy beaches & golf at Bigbury-on-sea/Burgh Island, 3 miles. Pub ten minutes walk. Excellent local shop at St Annes Chapel and pretty Georgian town of Modbury 3 miles.
