The Batman's Summerhouse
About the home
Hidden away in an unchanged corner of South Devon, this quirky 1930s self-catering hideaway is set within eight acres of victorian gardens and English woodland and boasts a truly enviable river-side setting. Whether enjoying toasting marshmallows on the outisde fire pit or relaxing with a fresh coffee on the sofa, this is an idyllic property for all seasons.
BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
The cosy adult sleeping platform is accessed by wooden steps from the living room. A downstairs bedroom, with triple bunkbeds, is perfect for children, and there is even a double sofa bed for unexpected guests. There is a walk-in shower room with a generous supply of fluffy towels.
FOR RELAXATION
Underfloor heating adds a cosy ambience to winter days, whilst during warmer months you can bring the outside in with bi-folding doors, or simply head outside to read a book under the cherry tree or take the children river “ratting” on giant inflatables.
The Batman's Summerhouse is just a fifteen minute drive to the South Devon coast and the popular beaches of Bantham and Bigbury on Sea. Sample the locally-sourced gastronomic delights at the South Devon Chilli farm, on the opposite river bank, the excellent Riverford Field Kitchen near Totnes and the delightful Avon Mill Garden Centre.
PRACTICALITIES
There is room for one car in the allocated parking space by the riverside and additional parking can be found a short stroll away by the old bridge. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The washer machine is in the bathroom.
