This beautiful property has been tastefully decorated throughout, but with all modern appliances and amenities. The owners are very welcoming but do not infringe upon your privacy. It's rural position guarantees you a relaxing peaceful holiday, but with access to all of South Devons tourist attractions.. |

Having just spent a week in this idyllic cottage, we were amazed to read such a negative review from a recent holidaymaker about Swallows Rest. We have never felt the need to leave a review before, but feel we must comment on the poor review as it gives very unfair feedback for the owner. On our arrival we were greeted by Jayne and Graham Lago who showed us around the cottage. The complimentary cream tea was the best we tasted during our two weeks stay in Devon. Jayne and Graham had also switched on the flame effect on the modern convector fire (certainly not a fan heater) to make it look more homely for us as it was a cold and wet day. We never ever felt cold in the cottage. As with most holiday cottages (and we have stopped in many), there was no tumble dryer, but there was a clothes line. Unfortunately the weather was not good enough to hang washing out, but this dried easily on the clothes airer provided. As most correspondence is dealt with these days via emails (modern technology) we had no qualms booking this way. We had immediate response from any queries we raised. In the visitors book it said if you wanted to take advantage of their complimentary walking boots and clothes drying facility you only had to ask. It was clearly mentioned on the booking site that it was attached to the owners home and until the last day when we returned the key we didn't encounter the owners again, but they were on hand if we had needed anything. One could sit out on the patio, or leave and return without being in view of their house. We found the cottage of exceptionally high quality, definately not overpriced. We enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to return to Swallows Rest. Many thanks Jayne and Graham for a lovely holiday |
