About the home

This is a cosy little cottage in the picturesque village of Kingsbarns, a short walk from the beach. The property is perfect for couples looking for a short romantic break or peaceful holiday in tranquil surroundings.

Kingsbarns is small but offers a lot with a good pub, restaurant and village shop all just around the corner from the property. The day can then be finished off with a short walk to the award winning beach or Cambo House gardens, both of which are stunning locations.

The location also offers a base for touring the rest of Fife or visiting St. Andrews which is only 5-6 miles away. There is of course the famed Kingsbarns Links right on your door step which presents an opportunity not to be missed for the keen golfer.

The Fife region

Our properties are based in several locations along the coast from St. Andrews to Crail. The area is rich in history and has many attractions historical and sporting, the main one being golf. The nearest train station is Leuchars and we are about 1hour 20mins North of Edinburgh. From Glasgow we are a full 2 hours driving. If coming to the area it is probably best to have a car as plenty of beautiful and interesting places can be found within a short drive from our locations. If you are planning on not hiring or bringing a car, it is best to stick to our properties within the town centres of St. Andrews or Crail. If arriving by plane the quickest travel option is to hire a car from either Glasgow or Edinburgh airport. Where as if you are arriving by train it is easiest to continue by train from Edinburgh to Leuchars and then hire a car locally (the train takes about 6 hours from London).

The Kingsbarns area

So called because it used to house the monarch's grain for use at either Crail or Falkland Palace. This small, peaceful village, conveniently located between St Andrews and Crail, was the first conservation area in Fife. Now renowned for its award winning beach and magnificent coastline environment. Kingsbarns is a throwback to an age of village tranquility which is an ideal setting for a relaxing country break.

The village is also starting to attract quite a few golfers due to the quality of The Kingsbarns Links, a course that should be high on your list of must play golf in Fife. The properties we have near kingsbarns are in a peaceful rural location on a working farm. The setting is very picturesque by a pond and they provide a great family location particularly if they are let side by side for a larger group. There is a village shop and a great pub that serves good food (The Barns - Kingsbarns village centre picture on right). The Gardens at Cambo House just outside the village are a good day out as well.
