Lyndale Cottage is a delightful Grade II listed cottage, full of character and situated on the beautiful Rame Peninsula, in the historic village of Kingsand. The cottage is the 2nd oldest in the village and was built from parts of a ship that had been wrecked on the Eddy Stone Rock and has an original ships door as one of the doors in the house.

Kingsand and Cawsand offer a haven of peace and tranquility. Relax on the beach or in one of the village pubs or cafes or take a stroll through the narrow streets of colour washed cottages and shops that follow.

Swimming, fishing, windsurfing and water skiing are all available on the beaches or you can follow the coast path through the village and the Mount Edgcumbe estate to Cremyll. In the other direction the coast path takes you round the headland to the glorious sandy beach of Whitsand Bay.

From Cawsand, and just a few minutes' walk from the property, you can take a passenger ferry across to the city of Plymouth which offers an abundance of high street and independent shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, theatres and attractions to suit everyone. The Barbican and Hoe are steeped in history and are definitely worth a visit.

The Cornwall region

The villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are the perfect base for the discerning tourist or holiday maker. These historical fishing villages are unspoilt by time and still retain their colour-washed old cottages, narrow streets, pubs, restaurants and shops. Perhaps the most recognisable feature of the villages is the Clocktower along the seafront of Kingsand which was erected to commemorate the coronation of King George V. They are frequently winners of the Best Kept Village award, are in a conservation area which is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; hence the villages are an artist's dream.

Cawsand Bay offers the ideal place to relax but is also popular for swimming, windsurfing, water skiing, a tri-athlete’s dream training area for those who are more active! For a fishing break, why not try sea angling, - bass, wrasse, pollock or mackerel are readily caught from the rocks. Bird watchers might see buzzards circling overhead or cormorants fishing, and the really lucky ones may even glimpse a basking shark or a dolphin out in the bay.

Nearby Whitsand Bay is also popular with beachgoers, surfers, and shore-fisherman. Just behind Whitsand Bay is one of Cornwall’s most challenging and stunning golf courses; Whitsand Bay Links Golf Course which is open to the public.
