As brilliant as the photos are, when you walk up the stairs you really get the Wow Factor when you see how big the lounge/kitchen/dining room with. I went away with a group of friends for my birthday and this was the PERFECT location. It's a very social house and we all had a laugh. Spent hours chatting away in the hot tub. The location is brilliant, reminded us of Montana or somewhere - all wooden lodges around a lake - hard to believe in UK still! You can tell the Fir Lodge has been built with loving care and is fascinating to see how it's built. Lots of things to do such as watersking on site. Danny and Julie were very very friendly and helpful with suggestions. If you want to go away with friends on a social - this place is perfect. We will def be back |

I have been meaning to review Fir Lodge for several months, and simply could not let my stay go without letting others know what an amazing place this is. We went as a group of 25-30year old females and were certainly excited to say the least about the property from the pictures. And this place DID NOT disappoint any of us. Our photos on Facebook were inundated with requests from other friends wanting to know how they could book it too - so much for it being our little secret ;) Not many people are aware that the owner has literally built this place from scratch and there is quite simply nothing like it in the UK. This reminds me of the type of log cabin you would find in a 5 star resort in Aspen, Colorado. It's just breathtaking to see the effort the owner has made to bring this place to life, we literally spent the first hour just walking around with our mouth hanging open! Fir Lodge is simply massive - huge car park, huge lounge, huge dining room. For large groups there is simply everything you need for a weekend away. There are multiple fridges (for all those six packs) and the dining table is perfect for a bunch of girls to sit & natter. There are plates, cutlery, washing up liquid and even toilet roll which many rental properties don't provide. We could not work the dishwasher so some instructions would be super though for next time. The hot tub is just amazing, we loved sitting out under the stars on a freezing Feb night with our glasses of wine. A light outside would be great though! We did not venture out anywhere although there is a clubhouse not too far away but we had planned to bring our own food/drink to have a cosy weekend in. I could spend forever talking about this place but all I will say is that for a group of girls who have had some pretty incredible holidays away, this is most certainly one we won't ever forget and hopefully will make this an annual thing! Thanks Danny and Sam for all your help too :) |

We had a very enjoyable visit at Fir Lodge. We only stayed for the weekend and planned to go out walking in the local area but the lodge was so much fun we only managed to venture out once! Danny was fantastic leading up to the stay and went over and above to answer our queries. We had so much fun and created lots of happy memories, we will definitely be back. Thanks Danny for a wonderful stay. |
