The Donegal region

Donegal is a very rugged countryside with lots of hills, mountains, lakes and winding roads. There are lots of little islands offshore, Aranmore island, Tory island, (which can be reached by ferrie) Owey island, Gola island and a lot more. We also have the biggest fishing port in Ireland called Killybegs. Glenveigh National park is also one of the beauty spots of Donegal and well worth a visit. Our climate is around 18 to 20c in summer with our winters not much colder. The odd time we can get a heatwave where temperatures can reach as high as 30c.

Kincasslagh

Our festival season starts in June right through to September. The Burtonport festival starts the 3rd weekend in July and The Mary from Dungloe festival starts the last weekend in July for one week. Anagry festival which is also local is the beginning of June. The Daniel O'Donnell visitors centre is well worth a visit in the town of Dungloe. Activities: Rock climbing, Sea Angling, Rapid Kayaking, Horse Riding, Walking, Golfing etc..

"Extremely comfortable and accommodating."

I stayed a full week and we were taken care of as if we were a part of the family. I cannot express my gratitude to our hosts for making us feel so welcome. Many, many extra accommodations were made since it was a long stay. Our rooms were comfortable, well appointed, with lots of storage so we could spread out.. Every morning we were given a choice of a scrumptious breakfast plus tea and biscuits in the afternoon, and the list goes on.
I want to give Anne and Diane a huge thank you and I hope to b back soon!

"Donegal revisited"

After a long drive from the Midlands we arrived tired and ready for a nap. We were welcomed by the owner and shown to our room which was clean and comfortable. A slight problem with the heating was promptly rectified. After dinner in the local hotel (which was recommended) we spent a comfortable and undisturbed night before continuing our journey. It is an area of great natural beauty and the view from the dining room is spectacular. I have no hesitation in recommending Teach Donncadh and I will be returning again later this year.

"Delicious breakfast - with a view"

A beautifully situated B&B reached by crossing a causeway onto Cruit Island.

Anne responded very quickly to our enquiries and was flexible about when we arrived. She was very welcoming and helpful, but also gave us plenty of privacy to enjoy our stay. She gave good recommendations of local places to eat and drink.

She serves breakfast - a wonderful spread with homemade wheaten bread and black and white pudding - in a room with astounding panoramic views of the back bay. The room and bathroom is comfortable and well furnished.

Teach Donncadh is a perfect base for exploring this very beautiful area.

"Très bien"

Très agréable nuit dans un endroit magnifique. Nous ne sommes restés qu'une nuit mais tout était très bien et le rapport qualité prix est parfait.
La propriétaire est très agréable et nous a proposé un vrai petit déjeuné irlandais que nous avons beaucoup apprécié manger face à la mer!!
L'île de Cruit est très accessible puisque reliée par un pont et le séjour n'en n'est que plus pittoresque!
