The Western Finland region
Your cottage is located just meters from the Baltic sea in the Archipelago region of south western Finland on the Island of Kimito. The Archipelago region is Finland's most well kept secret as it boasts over 18,000 islands and idyllic countryside. In the summer-time, this region is known as a hotspot for sailing, boating and water sports, whereas in the winter the frozen sea provides the best terrain for cross-country skiing.
The Island of Kimito is 320km2 and has a population of over 7,000 year-round inhabitants which nearly triples during the summer months. It is located just 70km from Turku and 150km from Helsinki with connecting bus routes to each.
There are plenty of activities to participate in on the Island year round. The Baltic Jazz festival is for example organized every July, and the local Sagalund museum organizes regular exhibitions and cultural events. You may also book directly with us to organize fishing trips, boat rentals, boat tours and sports hall reservations. More information about current activities can be found at www.kimitoon.fi
