The house is only three and a half years old and built to the highest standards. It is therefore a very warm house which is heated by a oil central heating and also has a log burning stove in the sitting room for those who enjoy relaxing by the fire. We also have solar panels that provides ample hot water unless there is full cloud cover. We have also an electric immersion for heating water and an electric shower.
The house consists of a porch, entrance hall, small sitting room with views to the sea at the front, kitchen/ diner with small utility and back door, large sun room (2nd sitting room) has views to the front and back and double doors which opens out to the back patio area. Off the entrance hall is the down stairs wet room and one double room with en suite and a twin room. Upstairs is a large king-size bedroom, two single bedrooms and a small bathroom.
|Further details outdoors|
It is on 0.8 acre site with a large enclosed garden. In the garden is a wooden play house for children with swings and a slide. The space around the house consist of a large lawned area and space for ample parking, patio area and gravelled back yard.
We provide a shopping service prior to arrival so that when you do arrive you can relax and not have to leave to get your supplies.
Pets are welcome on request. This is a farming area with sheep in a lot of the surrounding fields so dogs need to be under control and any with a history of sheep worrying or worse it would be inadvisable to bring. FREE USE OF THE WESTPORT WOODS HOTEL SWIMMING POOL AND GYM.
The Western Ireland region
We are five minutes from the village of Murrisk where the annual pilgrimage of Croagh Patrick goes from every July. In the same village is the monument of the famine ship in commemoration of all those who died. County Mayo boast many characterful villages to visit, and there are also various lively towns such as Castlebar and Ballina.
Few Irish towns can match Westport's charisma and continental flavour. Within a gracious planned Georgian town centre, cheerful, multi-coloured shop fronts vie for attention with an attractive array of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants - little wonder it has become one of Ireland's most popular and cosmopolitan holiday destinations.
Westport nestles in the south east shore of Clew Bay under the watchful eye of Croagh Patrick and the chapel at its peak. Within a 45 minute drive of the town itself, the greater Clew Bay area, from Achill Island in the north to Louisburgh on the southern shore, offers breath-taking views, a myriad of activities and the perfect chance to just get away from it all. So what are you waiting for?
If the great outdoors is calling The Great Western Greenway, a selection of looped walks, long unspoilt sandy beaches, watersports from swimming to kitesurfing (and everything in between!), horse riding, golf and so much more awaits. If a more leisurely break is what you're after the historic houses and museums, shops, cafés, art galleries and spas are sure to please.
In 2012, Westport added to its long list of awards when crowned The Best Place to Live in Ireland, Ireland's Tidiest Large Town 2012, Ireland's Best Kept Large Town 2012 and the Retail Excellence Best Town in Ireland. The accolades keep coming!
There are many places to eat in Louisburgh and Wesport. The best two restaurants for your evening meals are the Quay Cottage at the Quay and Hudson's Pantry in Louisburgh. There are many good places for "Pub lunches"
the best being The Helm at the Quay and The Tavern in Murrisk.

"Relaxing, peaceful and refreshing stay"
Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The best feature of the house was the surrounding views, stunning sea views and the view of Croagh Patrick! It was in a private location but close and handy driving distance to Westport town and all major tourist attractions in and around Westport. The house had everything we needed and is well maintained. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

"spacious, comfortable house with wonderful views"
As a family of four adults we had plenty of space to crash out in this property - beds very comfy. Everything was very modern and we were close enough to towns to go shopping, eat or get provisions - very convenient. Would have liked a shower upstairs instead of bath as there were two showers downstairs but this was the only complaint we had.
