From Kilmarnock station it is just 17 minutes on the train to Prestwick International Airport. Also it is 40 minutes to Glasgow, so you can easily explore there too!

Not only does the Park have a beautiful 14th century castle, containing historic weapons, armour and musical instruments, but you can also enjoy the parks beautiful woodland walks, adventure playground, the pets corner, visitor centre, and the tearooms.

The internationally famous Scottish poet was born several miles away making Rankin House is an ideal base to explore the diverse attractions that comprise Burns Country. Spend a day at Burns' Cottage and the fantastic Robert Burns Birthplace Museum set in 10 acres of beautiful Alloway countryside and which houses the biggest and most important Burns collection in the world, including his writing set, pistols and even a cast of his skull.

Other closer Burns attractions include the Bachelors' Club in Tarbolton, the 17th century thatched cottage where Burns established his debating club, and the Burns House Museum in Mauchline where Robert Burns lived and worked between 1784 and 1788.

"We have found Rankin House very comfortable, spacious and enjoyed some barbecues on the patio. It was easy to get into Kilmarnock and most importantly a good place to park our 3 large vehicles in safety. It is well positioned for us as we had to travel as far as south Glasgow and east to Strathaven early in the morning. We reached the A77 Glasgow to Ayr and south to Stranraer road in a few minutes".
