With a unique and vibrant character, Co. Cavan is undoubtedly one of Ireland’s best-kept secrets. Breathtaking landscapes, rich culture and a thriving hospitality scene combine to make Cavan a feast for the soul; whether rest and relaxation, adrenaline-fuelled activity or simple family fun, it’s got something for everyone.

The arts scene is vibrant in Cavan town with a variety of local music and cultural festivals. Both the County Cavan Drama Festival and the NYAH Traditional Arts Festival take place annually during March/April. The annual St. Patrick's Day Parade (March 17th) draws large crowds. Many heritage events take place throughout the town during Heritage Week in Aug/Sept of every year. Traditional music sessions regularly take place in the town.

Affectionately dubbed as Ireland’s ‘lake country’, Cavan has also recently emerged as an up-and-coming destination, offering a dynamic blend of traditional Irish culture with 21st century living.

Co. Cavan also offers some of the best fine dining experiences to be found; the famous MacNean Restaurant & Townhouse in Blacklion and also The Olde Post Inn, Cloverhill, were recently named in the Bridgestone Guides '100 Best Places to Stay & Eat in Ireland 2009'.

"beautiful home in tranquil surroundings"

Two families met with young kids and it was perfect for a weekend get together. The outdoor space is very child and pet friendly. The house has everything you could possibly need and very luxurious! loved everything about it. The owners were really helpful and made us very welcome
