The Donegal region
Donegal is the most Northerly County in Ireland and boasts wild rugged Atlantic shores, peaceful
tranquil lakeland, dense woods and wide open spaces. In South Donegal you can visit the spectacular sea cliffs of Slieve League or enjoy an activity break which could include golfing, angling or treking. The county is also home to some of the finest restaurants in Ireland where you will be warmly welcomed by the friendly Donegal people.
Killybegs is Irelands premier fishing port. The lively fishing town has Irelands largest fleet of trawlers and the natural harbour provides a perfect gateway to the Atlantic ocean. Killybegs is an excellent place to base yourself when touring South West Donegal. The town itself has a range of excellent bars and restaurants and local attractions include a National Blue Flag beach at Fintra, Donegal Bay Seafari and a Maritime and Heritage Centre.
