The County Kerry region
County Kerry is a mystical and unspoilt part of Ireland, with spectacular natural beauty and a fascinating history. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, Kerry features many sandy beaches, rocky inlets and stunning peninsulas, with plenty of opportunities for sailing, fishing and boating tours. Inland, Kerry continues to delight, with breathtaking mountains, lovely lakes and valleys offering wonderful walking and cycling.
Killorglin area
Situated in the heart of County Kerry, the pretty town of Killorglin is located close to the River Laune. Surrounded by great scenery, this pretty village is within easy reach of the Ring of Kerry walking route and offers a variety of cafes, restaurants and pubs as well as great fishing opportunities on the River Laune and at nearby Caragh Lake. The town itself is also home to the annual Puck Fair - one of Ireland's oldest street festivals held every August. There are numerous sandy beaches close by in addition to a variety of good golf courses throughout the area. The town of Killarney is also within easy reach and boasts a selection of good shops, restaurants, bars and theatres.
