The East Ireland / County Dublin region
With a wonderful view of Killiney Bay, the 1500 sq. ft.(140 sq. m.) apartment has been built to the very highest specification. From the wide balcony to the built in wine cooler, from the large comfortable bedrooms to the state-of-the-art kitchen, this apartment will be a perfect base for you in Dublin.
Dublin is over 1000 years old and yet is a modern European capital . From the 8th century Book of Kells in Trinity College to shopping on Grafton Street, Dublin is full of interest. You are also only 5 minutes from the beginning of the ring-road around Dublin (M50) and so the apartment is the perfect touring base especially for the South and West. Killiney is where prosperous Dublin merchants built summer villas in the 19th Century and the district is an Architectural Preservation Area. County Wicklow is on your doorstep and Glendalough is an easy 40 minute drive.
You will enjoy spending time in Dalkey (one stop on the DART line) with its many shops, pubs and award-winning restaurants. Dun Laoghaire, with its beautiful 19th Century harbour (ferry from Holyhead) is only 10 minutes by DART. Walks, Culture, views, beach, history, pubs, music, theatre, Dublin, Ireland.
Killiney area
It is just a 2 minute walk to both Killiney beach (where the new-fangled idea of 'sea-bathing' became popular in the 18th century) and to the suburban rail (DART) station with frequent service into the centre of Dublin (just 30 minutes away).
To visit the Book of Kells (in Trinity College) or absorb the atmosphere of a modern European capital just hop on the DART. For sightseeing in Dublin city you will probably not use a car but the apartment is also the perfect base for touring. The southern end of the ring road around Dublin (M50) is a short 5 minute drive. You will have no difficulty finding the routes to the South and West.
Wicklow - known as the 'garden of Ireland' - is on your doorstep. Glendalough is only a 40 minute drive away. Closer to home you might take the 5 minute walk up the hill behind you to see the 7th century ruins of the Church of the Daughters of Léinín (Cill Ínion Léinín - now in English: Killiney). Dalkey with its many restaurants and stores is one stop away on the DART. The town of Dun Laoghaire with its large harbour and four sailing clubs is only 10 minutes away on the DART line. Killiney Golf Club (9 holes) is close by. Killiney Hill Park, with amazing views over Dublin city and from where the mountain ranges of Wales are visible on a clear day, is a 5 minute drive.
Whether you are coming to Ireland to tour or to relax, whether your idea of a perfect Dublin evening will be centred on a play by Samuel Beckett or Sean O'Casey in the National (Abbey) Theatre in the city or on a convivial Dalkey pub like Finnegans, the apartment will suit you perfectly as a base.
How to get there
Beside Killiney suburban Rail (DART) Station you are a pleasant 30 minute ride from O'Connell Street in the City Centre.
