Riverside Cottage occupies a very private location on the banks of the River Dochart in the beautiful village of Killin. Killin is a small village within the Loch Lomond National Park with stunning scenery right on your doorstep. The cottage garden has unrestricted access to the River Dochart with fishing rights (seasons/ permits for other areas can be obtained from the local newsagent). Trout and salmon are usually to be found in the many pools surrounding the garden's banks. The famous Falls of Dochart are approximately 50 yards downstream from the cottage banks. The area is full of wildlife with a roe deer family living at the bottom of the garden, otters in the river and even an owl sighted in the last few months. Killin has many restaurants with two approx 100 yards from the cottage, as well as a local Co-op store for everyday items.

Killin is within 90 minutes of Glasgow and Edinburgh and only 60 minutes or less from Oban, Glencoe, Gleneagles, Perth and Stirling. The village of Lochearnhead is 4 miles to the south where water-sports and fishing are also available. We have two golf courses within 20 minutes and many more a little further away. There are many forest trails within minutes of the cottage suitable for walking and mountain-biking.

This cosy 2-bedroom cottage is ideal if you want to sit and enjoy a log fire with a glass of wine while admiring the amazing scenery, or if you want to be a bit more active and get out and explore the area.

Main bedrom has a double bed with a single child's bed in an adjoining area.

Second bedroom has a comfortable double sofa bed which will be made up for you and ready to use.

Lounge has a log fire and very comfortable sofas and large picture windows to enjoy the view of the garden, river and the hills beyond. A basket of logs will be available when you arrive with additonal logs available in the outside coal shed. The logs have come from the grounds of the cottage and have been seasoned for over 2 years.

There is a small patio area/ balcony off the main lounge with seating to enjoy the outdoors in the warmer weather.

The newly-fitted kitchen has a dining area, dishwasher, gas hob and electric oven, fridge and freezer and had a large icture window to allow you to enjoy the view down to the river while you eat.

A separate utility/ boot room has a large Belfast sink with flexible hose tap for cleaning boots, fish, and even small dogs! A tumble dryer is available for occasional use.

The bathroom has a large powerful shower with constant hot water available from the combi-boiler.

The cottage has full gas central heating, beautiful oak flooring through the public areas and large picture windows in most rooms to make the most of the views. Wi-fi is also available.

Hairdryer, iron, ironing board, board games and a selection of local reference books are available. Guests are invited to swap their own book with a book from our "swap" library.

Off-street parking is available for 2 cars. The garage can be used to store any equipment/ bicycles, etc.

Guests are reminded that care should be taken in the garden grounds during wet weather, particularly close to the river's edge. Wellingtons/ walking boots are advised for making use of the garden/ riverbank.

A travel cot and linen can be arranged locally for £10 per week. Please request this when booking if required.

Thank you for a detailed review, glad you found the cottage comfortable and also mentioned the village. It's such a little gem of a place and yet remains quite quiet even during the high season. I will pass on your thanks to Annette, she really does a great job. I do hope you will stay with us again. Lesley

"Beautiful Cottage, immaculate and romantic!"

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay at Riverside Cottage, it really was a dream! The location was beautiful and had a real feeling of getting away from it all. A few minutes walk from the lovely little village, there were a few wee pubs that were great for popping in for a drink or something to eat (The falls of Dochart Inn in particular had the most spectacular open fire I've seen so far!).

Returning to the cottage for a cosy evening after a day out in the fresh air was an absolute treat. With it's own log fire, you feel completely spoiled and at one with the world. Sitting with a glass of wine watching your favourite DVDs is a perfect end to the day.

The facilities in the cottage are superb, you literally have everything you need and the decor in the cottage is fresh and warm.

The owner of the cottage is lovely, friendly and super efficient with great and swift communication.

We would definitely stay here again :)

Marisa, thank you for you lovely review. It was a pleasure to have you to stay and do hope you will stay again soon.

Best wishes,
Lesley

"a cosy cottage in a beautiful location, the kids have not stopped talking about it"

On arrival we were met by Annette who was very welcoming and gave us a good tour of the cottage and made it clear we could contact her for anything we needed. The cottage was exactly what we wanted : cosy with a real log fire in the living room and a nice big kitchen. The photos on the website do not do it justice the views down to the river are stunning and the kids loved running about in the garden which is massive. We will certainly be going back

Thanks Neil. Glad you all enjoyed it! Lesley
