Bungalow | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Blinkbonnie Cottage is set in beautiful forrest countryside within the Loch Lomond National Park. The cottage faces directly south and has a small Lochan at the end of the garden where trout can be seen jumping. The whole area is a haven for wildlife and only 2 miles from the village of Killin which is home to the famous Falls of Dochart and at the western end of Loch Tay. Killin has many eating houses and very good Coop store for all your needs.
You are within 90 minutes of Glasgow and Edinburgh and only 60 minutes or less from Oban, Glencoe, Gleneagles, Perth and Stirling. The village of Lochearnhead is 4 miles to the south where all styles of water-sports and fishing can be arranged. We have two golf courses within 20 minutes and many more a little further away.
If you are after a real chill out style holiday or a base to tour Scotland from, Blinkbonnie Cottage is the place for you.

The Loch Tay region
Wester Lix is a wooded area within the Loch Lomond National Park and designated as area of outstanding natural beauty. Yet only 2 miles from the village of Killin. The remoteness of the area encourages the wildlife and if you are lucky you may see around the cottage Deer, Hare, Rabbit, Pine Martin, Red Squirrel and for the bird watchers Golden Eagle, Osprey, Red Kite, Hen Harrier and even the occasional White Tailed Sea Eagle!
If you enjoy cycling we are a few hundred yards from the National Cycle Route 7 which runs between Glasgow and Inverness and our area is considered the most stunning!
One of the journeys worth doing is just a 40 minute drive across Rannoch Moor to Glen Coe as the scenery is breathtaking. Another journey we do regular is to Oban which is around 60 minute drive and then get the ferry as a foot passenger across to The Isle of Mull. The sea journey takes around 45 minutes and depending on the time of year you may see porpoise, dolphin or even whale!
On the return journey we always stop at Tyndrum and get Fish and Chip supper from the Good Food Cafe (Best Haddock Ever).
If you are a water-sports addict like me, I can arrange fishing, waterskiing, speedboat rides or Sailing on the beautiful Loch Earn home of the early water skiing pioneers.
