Home description

The Thatched Cottage is just 10 miles from Killarney and, with 4 bedrooms, offers accommodation for groups of up to 6 people. It has been tastefully decorated, retaining much of its original charm. There is a lawned garden from which you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining and a stream runs very close to the property. Although there is parking for up to 3 cars, the local pub and shop are about a mile away.

The County Kerry region

County Kerry is a mystical and unspoilt part of Ireland, with spectacular natural beauty and a fascinating history. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, Kerry features many sandy beaches, rocky inlets and stunning peninsulas, with plenty of opportunities for sailing, fishing and boating tours. Inland, Kerry continues to delight, with breathtaking mountains, lovely lakes and valleys offering wonderful walking and cycling.


Killarney / Beaufort area

The Killarney National Park is internationally renowned for its beauty and as an area of scientific interest. Tucked away in the mountains, there are many other lakes, waterfalls and the peaks known as MacGillicuddy's Reeks. There are many walks and trails around Killarney, ranging from a two-hour tourist-trail around the town itself to the 135 miles long-distance walking route. Visitors can enjoy various day trips around the area, including The Gap of Dunloe Tour, Torc Waterfall and Ladies View. These in particular offer some of the most spectacular views of the entire valley.

In addition, you can choose to travel in the traditional jaunting cars, water buses or in modern coaches around the area. There are many places of interest and of historical importance to visit in Killarney, such as ancient waterfalls, churches and monuments; the town is well-served by excellent shops and, for the sporting enthusiast, there are a variety of sports, including angling and water sports, golf, riding, orienteering and canoeing.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'Low', 'Mid', 'High', 'Peak', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
