The County Kerry region
Kerry, commonly known as "The Kingdom", is located in South West of Ireland in the province of Munster. The County contains some of Ireland's most magnificent scenery, a combination of high mountain, low rolling hills, lakes, rivers, bog land, rugged coastline and off-shore islands. Kerry has traditionally been Ireland's premier tourist County, chiefly because of its spectacular physical features. Killarney and its hinterland is probably one of the best known tourist destinations in Europe. The whole South Kerry area, together with the Dingle Peninsula are also very prominent tourist destinations. The Golf Courses of Kerry are some of the finest with Ballybunion Old Course recognised as the number one course in the world outside America. In close competition with this are Killarney, Waterville, Barrow, as well as ten other courses scattered all over the County. If golf is not an interest and walking is, a number of excellent walking routes over the most scenic areas are available in the Kerry Way. Kerry is a County with an abundance of richness in culture, heritage and spectacular scenery and amenities.
Killarney area
Killarney - Your place for all seasons. With 26,000 Acres of Killarney National Park surrounded by Kerry's wonderful landscapes and wilderness, more top class golf courses than you can shake a putter at, miles of nearby golden "blue flag" beaches and a choice of dining and entertainment options second to none, there are few places elsewhere on this earth that can offer the visitor such a wonderful choice within such an intimate and hospitable location. At any time of year, walkers can choose from low level parkland walks around beautiful lakes and through some of Ireland's oldest Oakwoods, to higher level hill walks on old coach roads and bridle paths, or for the more adventurous, take on the 3000 feet + summits of the "iconic" MacGillicuddy Reeks. If cycling is your passion, you can hire a bike from one of the numerous "bike hire" providers in Killarney and explore and discover the Killarney Valley at your leisure. Many of the recognised routes through the National Park are also open to cyclists. Killarney is beyond question the place to visit.

Guestbook for Ross Castle Grove
5/5 Great Place to Explore SW Ireland From GA Golfer Marietta, GA, USA. Date Submitted: December 13, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008 We stayed here in June '08 and used it as a "home" while we explored SW Ireland. We had 5 adults (2 couples) with 3 golfers and 2 sightseers. It was a great place to travel from. The golfers went to Waterville, Dooks, Trallee, Old Head, Ballybunion and Dingle. All except Old Head were easily accessible for early tee times. Old Head a little further, but still a day trip. The sightseers went all over SW Ireland from Trallee to Cork and Ring of Kerry.
The owner and his rep were extremely friendly and helpful. They met us at a convenient location and took us to the home. They checked in on us several times during the week and took care of any issues we had. They also gave us tips on where to go, what to avoid, etc.
Don't let the photo fool you, this is a duplex and you are only getting half. That said, it is three bedroom/two full bath plus a nice living room, dining room and kitchen. Plenty adequate for the 5 of us.
We would go back in a heartbeat and stay here. Later in the trip we stayed in a B&B in Dublin and everyone in our group preferred this experience to the B&B.
