Farran Farm is set in the heart of Co.Kerry, one of Ireland's most scenic areas. The house is overlooked by the magnificent McGillycuddy Reeks and overlooks part of the Dingle peninsula and the Brandon Mountains. The nearest village, Miltown is 2km away from the house. The surrounding countryside is rural and in the majority is used for agricultural use.
The house is within 12km from Killarney, the world renowned tourist town, 15km from Tralee, 7km from Killorglin, home of Puck Fair, which is the oldest fair of its kind in Ireland. Farran Farm is within easy access to a host of facilities such as up to 20 golf courses, driving range, fishing, horse trekking, hill walking, pitch and putt, many beaches etc.

The County Kerry region
Co.Kerry is home to the most picturesque scenery in Ireland. Within a few kilometres of Farran Farm, you can access the Ring of Kerry which is world renowned. The Ring of Kerry is a 130 km trip around the Iveragh Peninsula which includes the towns, Killarney, Killorglin, Kenmare and Sneem. The Dingle peninsula is the most westerly part of Europe, this area inclues Dingle, home of Fungi, the Dingle dolphin. This area is a Gaeltacht region, where Gaelic is the first language used by the local residents. The climate in Kerry is very mild and the southern part of Kerry has sub tropical conditions due to the warm Gulf stream and the south-westerly winds over the Atlantic Ocean
Killarney / Miltown area
This area offers many attractions. Farran Farm is within 12km of the famous tourist town of Killarney. This town is very visitor orientated, can visit Muckross House, the Killarney national park, the Killarney lakes and the many shops, pubs and restaurants. Killorglin is a smaller, less commercial town which hosts Puck Fair every year on 10/11/12th August each year. This is the largest and oldest traditional fair of its kind in Ireland. Miltown is a small village about 2km from Farran Farm, this village has all the usual shops and pubs. This whole area which encompasses a 15 mile radius of Farran Farm offers many activities, most popular being golf. The local golf courses include Dooks golf links, Killarney Golf and Fishing Club amongst others, in all about 20 golf courses in the area. Also there is facilities for hill walking and mountain climbing, McGillycuddy Reeks being the highest mountain range in Ireland. There is also fishing access available, horse trekking centres, pitch and putt, diving facilities available. There is access to a host of beaches all within 15km of Farran Farm, most impressive being Inch Strand, Rossbeigh and Kells. You can avail of the horse riding, surfing and wind surfing available.

Further details indoors: This year, 2006, the house has been entirely re-furbished so the farmhouse is up to date. The main focus of the house is the huge modern kitchen, the sitting room with large windows facing the McGillycuddy Reeks and the large garden. All is on one level so is child friendly. This was formerly a family home so has all the features sometimes lacking in a rent alone house.
Further details outdoors: There is a working dairy and beef farm to the rear, owners will be more than obliged to show you around. There is also several scenic walks within access of the farmyard. The large landscaped gardens are at the front of the house, outside seating can be arranged
