About this location
The Cornwall region
Duckpool Lodge is based in Kilkhampton, Bude. Bude is a popular seaside resort situated in North Cornwall and sits between a stunning shoreline of sandy beaches and rugged coastline. The South West coastal path provides ample walking opportunities for every member of the family and spans the whole of the South West coast. With excellent surfing conditions, canal walks and abundant wildlife, there is plenty to keep everyone entertained. Cafes and restaurants will keep you well fed with local produce and fresh fish. Regular festivals and events add vibrancy to the town and a holiday atmosphere.
Approximately 1 mile from Eddington Lodge are the popular Tamar Lakes, great for watersports, walking, cycling and fishing. From here you can have an easygoing 3 mile stroll around the Upper Lake or venture down to Bude from the Lower Lake. The sea is a 10 minute drive away and Sandymouth beach offers wide expanses of sand, sunbathing opportunities and beautiful views along the South West Coast Path. On site we offer stargazing opportunities using our 20" Dobsonian telescopes, with an introductory tuition session available during your stay. The dark skies in this area provide opportunities to explore the beautiful night sky without the interruption of light pollution.
