You can enjoy delightful views over the surrounding countryside and the fields of our dairy farm.
Each house has its own private parking and is only a fifteen-minute drive from Kilkenny City “The Creative Heart of Ireland”. Relax by the open fire on long evenings.

Together with the delightful and colourful concentration of quality craft studios and workshops, Kilkenny is the county that offers quite simply everything for an enjoyable and memorable holiday.


Kilkenny area

Angling
The river Nore is a noted Trout and Salmon river. The river Barrow will provide all the requirements for course and angling enthusiasts. A guide to angling is available from us or from Kilkenny Tourist Office.

Beaches
The popular sandy beaches of Tramore and Dunmore East are within a 50km drive.

Bicycle Hire
Available in Kilkenny City 16km away.

Birds and Wildlife
Our holiday home is located in a quiet rural part of Ireland and these conditions are a haven for wildlife, especially bird watching. Guidebooks are available from us.

Boating
The River Barrow (10 minutes drive from Coolgreany) marks the eastern Boundary of the county from the Royal Oak in Carlow to the sea at Waterford. It is a popular and growing inland-waterway boating area, where well-equipped cruisers can be hired.

Dunmore Cave
This ancient cave has some of the finest calcite formations in Ireland. It consists of a series of chambers formed over millions of years and is not to be missed!

Discovery Park
Discover the past through the interactive multimedia exhibition ‘Footprints in Coal’. Enjoy stories of men who worked the coal seams of the Castlecomer mines until 1969. A Fifteen minute drive from Coolgreany.

Golf
Both County Kilkenny and adjoining County Carlow 18-hole golf courses are within easy reach, not to mention the Jack Nicklaus designed championschip course at Mount Juliet in Thomastown.

Heritage
There are many places of historical interest in Kilkenny City with its fine castles, cathedrals and abbey. Other famous abbeys and cathedrals within an easy drive include Jerpoint Abbey in Thomastown, Duiske Abbey in Graignamanagh and St Laserians Cathedral in Old Leighlin. Clara Castle, a well preserved 15th century castle with some original features is worth a visit. The Lory Meagher Homestead and GAA museum in Tullaroan are also of interest. Kilkenny has many pritty towns and villages with a relaxed atmosphere where you will feel at home from the time you arrive.

Horse Riding and Pony Trekking
The nearest centre to us is Top Flight Equestrian Centre, Warrington. It caters for all levels of riders and is open all year.

Horse Racing
Gowran Race course has frequent meetings within easy reach of us and also now includes an 18 hole Golf Course.

Tours - Sl� - de Cill Chainnigh
There are seven colour-coded touring routes throughout the county of Kilkenny, which provide an opportunity to view scenery and historic sites. All routes are sign-posted with book available from us. Also worth checking out are Tynan Medieval Walking Tours of the city, available daily from Kilkenny Tourist Office.

Walking
Trail Kilkenny, created to help you get out and about to explore the wonderful countryside of Kilkenny, The trail Guide is available at our accommodation. The mixed woodland of Ballykeefe Wood, now a National Reserve, and the forest parks of Woodstock at Inistioge, Jenkinsown and Castlecomer Demesne woodland walking trail all located within a 25km drive. Closer to home, you could just meander along the quiet country roads of Castlewarren and admire the scenery.

The charming bungalow consists of three spacious bedroom – the master bedroom has en suite facilities and there’s also one twin room and one single room in the home. The sitting room and dining area are combined and have the added luxury of an open fire. The light filled kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences. As soon as you walk in the door of the premises you will immediately feel like it’s your new home away from home. Ample parking is available around the premises and bed linen and towels are provided during your stay.

Since Coolgreany House is only a few kilometres from Kilkenny City, you should make the best of it’s compact nature and explore its historical buildings, modern stores, alluring galleries as well as cute outdoor cafes in the local towns and villages. If you decide to visit Kilkenny Castle, try to include a trip to the enchanting Rose Garden overlooking the crystal waters of the River Nore. On the other hand, you might want to experience the narrow slipways, side streets, preserved buildings and great shopping. Whatever your reason is for coming to Kilkenny, make sure you come here with youthful high spirits and energy primed for enjoyment.

Rental periods, May - September are Saturday to Saturday. These usually begin at 4.00p.m. on Saturday and end at 10.00a.m. on the following Saturday. Other arrangements may be made on request.

A booking deposit will secure your booking. A refundable deposit of €100.00 should be included in the balance due. This deposit is in respect of damage to and / or loss of equipment / contents.


Conditions

On notification of your decision to book this property, a deposit of 30% of the total cost of your reservation is required. This deposit will secure your booking and be taken as part payment.
