Reconstruction of an old farm cottage within 10 minutes walk of friendly local pub, shops, community centre and church. Only 10 minutes drive from the town of Tuam and 40 minutes from Galway city.
The cottage combines the advantages of a modern timber-framed building with the cosiness and character of the original, together with some great architectural features created by metal artist Steve Attwell. It has a fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven) and enclosed garden with views over open farmland.
The cottage is on a small, quiet road with very few passing cars, yet only 10 minutes walk from Kilconly village centre with its friendly pub and other amenities. The town of Tuam with its modern shopping centre, restaurants and pubs is only 10 mins drive. It is ideally situated for exploring Connemara and the lakes, Galway city, the islands of Galway Bay and the unspoilt beaches of Galway and Mayo. Activities available nearby include golf, fishing, swimming and mountain walks. Ashford Castle and Loughs Corrib and Mask are only 30 minutes drive. Lough Aclaureen pictured, is in Kilconly parish and is sign posted from the main Tuam to Ballinrobe road. The lake is several acres in size and has fishing stands located along its edge. The main fish to be found in the lake are roach, tench, bream and pike.
The owners, who live close by, will be happy to provide you with any information you may need about the cottage and surrounding area.

"Quirky little cottage in charming countryside"
Stayed here with my husband in February The cottage is cozy and tastefully decorated, with interesting metal work features done by the owner Steve, who lives nearby. Both Steve and Lynn are very friendly, and more than happy to share advice on trips, restaurants, etc. The kitchen is fitted out with all requirement for self catering. The cottage in located within walking distance of the cute village of Kilconly, (nice pub) - an real old Irish Village untouched by modern madness! There are two bedrooms, we only used the double on the ground floor, and the upstairs room would be fun for children. It's nice to wake up to nosey cows looking at you from across the garden. The cottage is conveniently located for exploring both Galway and Mayo.
