Why not enjoy an autumn break in one of Scotland's undiscovered beauty spots. The delightful self catering Kilchattan Bay holiday flat overlooks the Firth of Clyde with views of the Cumbraes and the Ayrshire coast.
The holiday flat sleeps up to four in its double bedroom and twin bunks.Wonderful walks are on the doorstep with the west island way moments away. Perfect for a romantic getaway or for a family holiday. If you love walking, wildlife, sailing, golfing cycling, and those who just like to get away from it all, or simply relaxing this is the holiday for you.
This is a lovely one bedroom seaside flat for holiday lets with stunning views of the Firth of Clyde. Fully furnished quaint flat ideal for long or short term holiday lets. Situated in the lovely village of Kilchattan Bay famed for its fabulous beach, a well equipped local shop, Village
pub and restaurant the Kingarth Hotel, golf course, pony riding, fishing and plenty of outdoor walking and a fabulous beach. Only 7 miles from the town of Rothesay.
The island is only 15 miles long and 4 miles across and is one of the most accessible of Scotland 's islands, less than 2 hours from Glasgow, door to door.
Bute's position in the Firth of Clyde (sheltered by the Isle of Arran and the Kintyre peninsula to the west, and the peninsulas of Cowal to the NE, N & NW), together with the moderating influence of the Gulf Stream that washes its shores, makes for a climate that is much milder than would otherwise be expected of a place located at 55° North latitude.
Bute's wonderful gardens, with their splendid variety of flora, are the beneficiaries of this unexpectedly benign climate, as this is no-better evidenced than by Rothesay Esplanade's legendary palm trees!.
Bute is also the ideal base to explore mainland Argyll, by simply hopping the 5 minute ferry from the north of the island at Rhubodach over to mainland Argyll at Colintraive, located on the Cowal peninsula.
These ferry crossings are very regular and take only 5 minutes. From there, you are just over an hour and a half away from Inveraray, where you can visit the famous Old Jail, stroll along the banks of Loch Fyne and enjoy lunch in the award winning George Hotel.
And the drive is spectacular !
During the summer months, the Waverley Paddle Steamer calls into Rothesay harbour on a regular basis. The Waverley offers a great day out, weather permitting, sailing from Rothesay up the Kyles of Bute to Tighnabruaich, or across to the Isle of Arran or to Loch Fyne.
Pictures show front of house and view from front window. Visit Argyll's secret coast for more info on area.
