The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Carmarthenshire region

This family Holiday Park is an ideal base from which to explore the local area or you can chill out and enjoy the beach and the facilities available to you on the Park and the Entertainment Complex. Locally are Kidwelly Castle, Pembrey Country Park and Cefn Sidan Beach, Motor Sports Centre at Pembrey and Kidwelly Industrial Museum.

The market towns of Llanelli (outdoor market Thursday) and Wales oldest town Carmarthen (0utdoor market Wednesday) with indoor and outdoor stalls specialising in Welsh produce. There are Leisure Centres at both these towns.

You can spend a day or half day visiting 0akwood Coaster Country Park with rides for all ages, Marros Riding Centre, the National Showcaves at Dan-yr-0gof and Dinosaur Park and Iron Age Farm. Folly Farm is a great day out with its rare animals and birds of prey, or enjoy a picnic or the old time funfair etc. Paintball, Coarse Fishing, Karting and a great family day out at Heatherton. 0r you might like to follow the Dylan Thomas trail from his birthplace in Swansea throughout Carmarthenshire and Pembroke.

Kidwelly area

Kidwelly Castle is well worth a visit and one of Wales' best kept secrets. 0riginally built in 1106 in earth and timber by the Normans it was rebuilt in tdhe 1270's in stone. It is reputedly haunted. Has recently re-opened after closure for improvements to the access. St Mary's Church was built c1320 as a Benedictine Priory before the Reformation. Visitors are welcome daily. Pembrey Park is situate approx 3 miles from Kidwelly.

Enjoy the tranquility of the forrest and seven miles of Cefn Sidan Beach. Enjoy also the magnificent beach, woodland picnic areas, mini railway, putting green, dry ski slopes etc. Explore the 10 miles of public foodpaths or cycle the Sustrans Cycle track. There are plenty of local pubs and cafes to enjoy good food in a friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Kidwelly Carnival takes place on 12th July with the added enjoyment of a fly past of a memorable Lancaster Bomber and parachutists.

How to get there

Via M4 west. At Junction 48 take A4138 to Llanelli then the A484 to Kidwelly. Follow sign posts for Carmarthen Bay from Kidwelly. If travelling from via Carmarthen take A484 to Kidwelly and follow the sign posts for Carmarthen Bay. Nearest Railway Station is situated at Kidwelly from which you will need to travel by taxi to the Holiday Park. Your own transport is recommended.

The kitchen area has fitted cupboards and worktops, gas cooker, microwave, refridgerator, kettle, toaster, slow cooker and deep fat fryer. Very well equipped including champagne flutes for a special celebration and everything you need for a barbecue. There is a washing machine and freezer in outbuilding next to caravan. There is also an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. The bathroom has a shower cubicle and wash basin and mirror bathroom cabinet. The cloakroom has wc and wash basin. The Lounge looks out over the Estuary and has plenty of storage space and coffee table. The dining area has table and chairs. The master bedroom has double divan (new orthopaedic mattress), bedside lights and cabinets, double wardrobe, mirrored unit with drawers, cupboards above bed and shelved cupboard. Electric heater. Twin bedroom has bedside cabinet, mirror, double wardrobe and electric heater. Both single rooms have mirrored dressing unit and wardrobe. Plenty of clothes hangers provided. Bathmat, 2 tea towels and all bed linen provided. 2 pillows for each person. For your safety a smoke alarm and fire extinguisher have been installed. 0utside there is a rotary line for drying and a gas barbecue.

Enjoy a meal or just relax on the vehandah. Sun too hot - then put up the sun umberella for some shade. Patio area with seating and low table and barbecue. Grassed area for the children to play. A few minutes walk to main complex with heated indoor swimming pool with flume and spa bath. Changing cubicles and showers and lockers. Crazy Golf and Kids Park. Sandy Beach.
