The Central England / Cotswolds / Worcestershire region
Shropshire delights with its variety. Whether exploring the castle, narrow streets or fine dining of Ludlow, strolling by the river in medieval Shrewsbury or discovering delightful Church Stretton, Bridgnorth or Bishops Castle, you can be assured of plenty to see and sample. Even the museums and attractions are wide ranging; from the industrial investigations to ecologically informative nature centres, and even the chance to step back in time and visit a working Victorian village.
Even the landscape alters, from the hills, heaths and deep wooded valleys of the Welsh borderlands to the magnificent, moorland scenery of the Long Mynd, while the beautiful Teme, Clu, Corve and Onny valleys host an amazing variety of wildlife. You can even take a walk on the wild side among the legendary Stiperstones, at Wenlock Edge and within the stunning Clee Hills.
The Kidderminster / Neen Sollars area
Cleobury Mortimer is a delightful little town at the very heart of the countryside of beautiful South Shropshire. The historic market towns of Bridgnorth and Ludlow with its impressive castle, and Ironbridge Gorge and its 10 museums are within easy driving distance. Cleobury Mortimer itself has an interesting variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and visitors are always amazed by its famous church, a unique building that has a quirky crooked steeple. The nearby Clee Hills and Wyre Forest offer some superb walking opportunities, and other outdoor pursuits such as fishing, golf and horse riding can all be enjoyed close by.

The cottage was perfect for what we needed and the owners really helpful and friendly. Verified by FlipKey, a TripAdvisor company |

The property was hidden away down a slightly scarily narrow road (though it seemed to widen with practice), so very quiet. A small place but characterful, bright and comfortable. Verified by FlipKey, a TripAdvisor company |

Guestbook for 747 - The Hop Barn
The 'upside down' nature of the accommodation was a real bonus. The large sitting room/kitchen area is superb and can easily be heated using the woodburner alone. We were able to turn the heating almost off and were still very comfortable. There is a vast library of books, CDs, etc and copious amounts of local information.

,Remote quiet location with very friendly and helpful residents. The Pub is excellent value and very good food and beer.

,The location is remote but beautiful and quiet. The rural setting is great to feel the local culture. It was a once in a lifetime vacation and the setting was great for visiting area attractions.

,A most peaceful spot - all we heard was birds and animals. The garden was ours to enjoy and the property was furnished as a home with fresh flowers and lovely pictures. There was plenty of space.
