Harbour View is a new stone house which incorporates modern amenities with old style rural comfort which was built in 2001. This four bedroom two storey house is located in a picturesque location just outside the seaside village of Kilcar, Co Donegal where the most magnificent sea and mountain views can be enjoyed. This property has been awarded the top available rating from Bord Failte (Tourist Board).

The Donegal region

These parts of Donegal have some wonderful coastline where you can enjoy lazing in the sun on warm sunny days or enjoy brisk walks on autumn days. All of the beaches listed below are within a short drive and are well worth a visit and there are many more for you to discover.

Doonin Beach
The smallest and most local to the house within a 2 minute walk from the house. Both very safe and clean, an ideal place to bring younger children where you can keep an eye on them.

Mucross beach
This beach is a 5 minute drive from the house and has splendid views accross Donegal bay. Again this beach is very safe and clean, an ideal for younger children.

Fintra Beach
Just before the town of Killybegs, you will come across Fintra Bay. Its about a 15 minute drive from the house. Fintra is a larger beach, which is ideal for walks or to sit and enjoy the fresh air and scenery among the sand dunes.

Silver Strand Beach
Heading to Glencolmcille, about a 20 minute drive from Harbour View, you will follow the signs to what is one of the most famous beaches in the north west. Silver Strand is a spectacular beach with breath taking views - take the short trip and see for yourself.

Narin Beach
Heading in the opposite direction away from Kilcar you will head toward the beach of Narin. This is located in Portnoo, about a 35 minute drive, which is very popular with tourists and beach lovers. Busy during the summer, the beach itself stretches for over a mile and is an ideal location for children and adults.

Murvagh Beach
Further back towards Donegal town, Murvagh beach is a long stretch of golden coastline, again very popular with locals and visitors alike.

Kicar area

There is a full range of outdoor and indoor activities available in the locality. The local Aislann Centre boasts many facilities and caters for different age groops. There is a library where you can pick up a novel or browse through some local history.

The new sports hall provides for many sports like indoor soccer, badmington, tabletennis, basketball, an extremely well equipped gymnasium for the keep fit fanatic. There are some beautiful country walks, many of which have breathtaking views of Donegal Bay and Slieve League mountain where you will find Bunglas the highest sea cliffs in Europe at a height of 1974 feet.

With four bedrooms, the house will sleep eight people comfortably in both double and twin bedrooms. All bed linen and bed changes are supplied and hair dryers are located in each bedroom. Our spacious bathrooms are fully fitted. The bathroom facility on the ground floor is wheelchair accessible so that each and every one of our guests can enjoy their stay in comfort.

Situated to the rear of the house, Harbour View boasts a large fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons including dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and so on. Decorated in keeping with the rest of the interior, you will find a warm cosy country feeling where food is a pleasure to prepare.

Just off the kitchen you will find a large separate dining area where you can relax and enjoy some of the local cuisine, fish being a local speciality.

Further details outdoors:
We have fully landscaped and maintained gardens where there is room to sit among the shrubs and flowers.

We have also provided a dedicated barbecue area with garden furniture and a barbecue for those who want to take the kitchen outside. Sit and enjoy the clear air and wonderful views on a balmy summers evening.

Harbour View also has a large parking area.

Confirmation of Bookings
Bookings can only be confirmed upon receipt of a €200 deposit. The deposit is non-refundable -

Payment
Full payment must be made on the date of arrival.

Cancellations
If cancellation is made within 4 weeks of your arrival, payments received will be non refundable. However, full refund less 10% will be made if booking is cancelled before the 4 week mark.

Arrival and Departure
The house will be available from 4pm on the day of your arrival. Please vacate the house by 12pm on the day of your departure. For guests staying for a weekend, please vacate the house by 4pm on Sunday.

Included
Included in the rental is the use of all facilities provided; electricity, central heating, bed linen, towels and cleaning.

Excluded
Beach towels are not included in the house rental and its forbidden to take the house towels to the beach. Wood and fuel for the fire is not supplied. Phone cards for use with the mobile phone are not supplied but all of which may be purchased locally.

Damage to Property
Guests are fully liable for any damage that may occur to the property or its contents. You are requested to inform the owner as soon as any such damage occurs.

Termination of Agreement
We reserve the right to terminate the contract immediately if it is found that there has been unreasonable behaviour, disturbance or intentional damage to the property of both our house or that of our neighbours and a no refund policy will be enforced.
