The Tasmania region
Kettering is a fishing and ferry port offering premier access point to one of the world's finest waterways. It is home to a wide range of pleasure craft and fishing boats from which you can enjoy the spectacular coastline.
Kettering is an ideal base if you are planning to visit Bruny Island to experience adventure tourism and wilderness areas. The village is surrounded by reserves and natural attractions including Snug Falls, Coningham Beach, Trial Bay, Kettering Point and the Manuka Road Hills.
There are a range of exotic dining options from Turkish cuisine to our very own chocolatier. Tasmania's finest dining experience can be found around the corner at Peppermint Bay or you can drive over Woodbridge Hill to sample fresh produce along the world-renowned Huon Trail.
The village offers ready access to arts, culture as well as beautiful and varied bushland with a network of trails and tracks that wind through the bush and coastal reserve. A beautiful, country sports oval, home of the Kettering Crickets, lies in the centre of the village and slopes down to the waterfront . Adjacent to the oval are other recreational facilities including an excellent skateboard park, large community hall, barbeque area, children's playground, tennis courts, community garden and bush reserve.
The visitor information centre is adjacent to the Mermaid Café. The Oyster Cove Inn is an excellent place to enjoy a sundowner and watch fishing boats dock into the marina with their day's catch.

"This cosy house has the best view in Tasmania!"
I stayed in Bruny Vista, Kettering and thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking views from nearly every window. The house is modern and comfortable with lovely terraced gardens.
It is totally private and surrounded by beautiful bushland with walk trails. The trails meander along the water. You feel as if you have the whole of the coast line to yourself but in actual fact you are close to a gorgeous village with its yachts and small port.
Bruny Island is at your doorstep and just waiting to be discovered.
I loved my stay as I could swim, sightsee and walk to my hearts content without even getting into my car.
