Lustruyen

Lustruyen is set in one and a half acres in a very quiet rural area but within five minutes of the market town of Rostrenen. The largest lake in Brittany, Lac Guerledan and the Nantes/Brest canal are only 15 minutes away and offer many water sports including canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing and water skiing as well as small sandy beaches, restaurants, and boat trips along the lake in July and August.

There are tennis courts in Rostrenen and fishing in the small rivers and lakes nearby. The roads and lanes around this area are quiet and flat and ideal for bike riding with lots of designated randonees (footpaths) criss crossing the countryside.

Pretty detached slate and granite cottage that sleeps 4/6

The ground floor has a lounge/kitchen/diner and bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven,fridge and microwave oven. There are plenty of china, cutlery and glasses and all the normal appliances ie kettle, toaster, coffee maker, hand blender etc. The comfortable lounge area has leather chesterfield settees, books, English TV , video, DVD player, large original fireplace with log burner and French doors to a private patio area which overlooks a small apple orchard and grassed area with your own rotary washing line.

The upstairs is fully carpeted with one double bedroom and a family room with a double bed and a sofa bed.
For families with young children we can provide free of charge cots and bedding,high chairs,stairgates, ,sterilisers, changing mats,baths,toilet trainer seats,potties, night lights and plastic bowls and cutlery.

Here on site you can enjoy swimming in our 10x5 metre heated, fenced, swimming pool with shallow end and roman steps. The pool is sheltered and well positioned to remain in full sun all day with tables, chairs, parasols and sun loungers to relax on.

The pool is normally open from the end of May to the end of September. Also in the grounds are a boules court, table tennis, trampoline with safety net, football nets, swing-ball, quoits, plastic playhouse, plastic play frame, children’s swing and slide and badminton. We also have a grassed area that we keep cut for ball games (football, cricket and rounders) so that children kids play safely within sight but without disturbing the adults. There is plenty of room within the grounds to park cars safely.

There are two properties on this site,the other a farmhouse (sleeping 9) is across the gravelled courtyard and both houses have access to the pool.

There is a communal room that the two properties have a key to housing the washing machine, freezer, ironing boards, irons, hoovers and video library.

Nearby Rostrenen is a small town offering all facilities (4 supermarkets, Doctors, garage, tennis courts, bank and restaurants etc) and a weekly small general market on Tuesday mornings.

Clients who book with us can take advantage of discounted ferry and tunnel crossings, just request our reference number to quote when ready to book your travel arrangements.

WHAT ISN’T INCLUDED

Towels and tea towels (these can be hired at £3 or 4 Euros per person per week)
Cleaning of the properties on departure or during your stay which can be arranged for you at a charge of 50 Euros per property.

A local company can arrange to take you to a restaurant in a mini bus and pick you afterwards at a very reasonable cost.

If you need to stay an extra night/nights I can arrange bed and breakfast locally starting at 45 Euros for a double room

DOGS
Well behaved dogs can share your holiday as long as you ask us when booking. We will happily recommend the local vet that we use ourselves who provides the necessary treatment and paper work to comply with regulations in the UK. Conditions

Notes
A deposit of 25% is required to secure the booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. A separate cheque for £100 or equivalent is required per property per week as a refundable security deposit. We recommend that you take out travel insurance with a cancellation clause.

The Brittany / Cotes-D'Armor region

Lustruyen is ideally located in this beautiful area of Central Brittany.It is only 40 minutes from Saint Brieuc the capital of the region on the North coast and an hour for the beautiful beaches at Plenéuf Val André, Pordic & Binic .The South coast is an hour and a quarter .

The Kergrist Moelou / Lustruyen area

Lustruyen is only 15 minutes drive from the largest man made lake in Europe, Lac Guerlédan which offers many watersports including sailing, canoe: kayak, water skiing, pedaloes, swimming, fishing,boat trips etc,as well as beaches and restaurants.

For 4 or 5 evenings every year in early Augustthe Abbey Bon Repos on the banks of the Nantes / Brest canal has its spectacle "son et lumiere".A fantastic night out,once seen never forgotten.
