LUSTRUYEN
Lustruyen farmhouse is one of two houses on this one and a half acre site in a very quiet rural area but within five minutes of the market town of Rostrenen. The largest lake in Brittany, Lac Guerledan and the Nantes/Brest canal are only 15 minutes away and offer many water sports including canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing and water skiing as well as small sandy beaches, restaurants, and boat trips along the lake in July and August.
There are tennis courts in Rostrenen and fishing in the small rivers and lakes nearby. The roads and lanes around this area are quiet and flat and ideal for bike riding with lots of designated randonees (footpaths) criss crossing the countryside.

Lustruyen is ideally located in this beautiful area of Central Brittany.It is only 40 minutes from Saint Brieuc the capital of the region on the North coast and an hour for the beautiful beaches at Plenéuf Val André, Pordic & Binic .The South coast is an hour and a quarter .

Lustruyen is only 15 minutes drive from the largest man made lake in Europe, Lac Guerlédan which offers many watersports including sailing, canoe:kayak,water skiing,pedaloes,swimming, fishing,boat trips etc,as well as beaches and restaurants. For 4 or 5 evenings every year in early Augustthe Abbey Bon Repos on the banks of the Nantes / Brest canal has its spectacle "son et lumiere".A fantastic night out,once seen never forgotten.

Situated across the gravelled courtyard from the cottage is the farmhouse that sleeps 9 +cot . There is an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with large farmhouse table comfortable sofas and chairs, log burner, books, English TV, video and DVD player. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of quality glasses, crockery, cutlery, non stick pans as well as a kettle, toaster, coffee maker ,hand blender etc. There is a gas hob/oven, fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher. On the ground floor there is also a family bedroom with a double, and single bed and en-suite shower/toilet
Upstairs is fully carpeted with two double bedrooms with carved Breton beds and wardrobes, a twin bedroom and bathroom.
To the front of the farmhouse hidden from view is a small secluded private garden with your own rotary washing line.
Further details outdoors: Here on site you can enjoy swimming in our 10x5 metre heated, fenced, swimming pool with shallow end and roman steps. The pool is sheltered and well positioned to remain in full sun all day with tables, chairs, parasols and sun loungers to relax on. The pool is normally open from the end of May to the end of September. Also in the grounds are a boules court, table tennis, children’s swing and slide , badminton, childs playhouse and frame with slide. We also have a grassed area that we keep cut for ball games (football, cricket and rounders) so that children kids play safely within sight but without disturbing the adults. There is plenty of room within the grounds to park cars safely. The farmhouse and cottage are detached from each other across a gravelled court yard
There is a communal room that the two properties have a key to housing the washing machine, freezer, ironing boards, irons, hoovers and video library.
Nearby Rostrenen is a small town offering all facilities (4 supermarkets, Doctors, garage, tennis courts, bank and restaurants etc) and a weekly small general market on Tuesday mornings.

Especially handy for those guests staying at Lustruyen as this is a Sunday start and the shops close at Midday! Large selection of books and videos (please bring your own DVDs and children’s videos)

WHAT ISN’T INCLUDED
Towels and tea towels (these can be hired at £3 or 4 Euros per person per week) Cleaning of the properties on departure or during your stay which can be arranged for you at a charge of 50 Euros per property. A local company can arrange to take you to a restaurant in a mini bus and pick you afterwards at a very reasonable cost.
If you need to stay an extra night/nights I can arrange bed and breakfast locally starting at 45 Euros for a double room

Notes Payment may be made by International bank transfer,credit card (Paypal 3.4% charge incurred)or sterling /euro cheque.
A deposit of 25% is required to secure the booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. A separate cheque for £100 or equivalent is required per property per week as a refundable security deposit. We recommend that you take out travel insurance with a cancellation clause.
