LOCATION. This property is located in the small village of Kenton-on-Sea, about midway between the towns of Alexandria and Port Alfred, on the R72 route from Port Elizabeth to East London. It is in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The Kenton-on-Sea village itself stands between the Bushmans (Boesmans) and Kariega rivers. A large swimming and fishing beach joins the mouths of these two rivers across the seaward front of Kenton.
This double story home/Villa is in a quiet part of Kenton-on-Sea. It is within 120 metres of both the river and beach. It has a sea view. The village is small and only busy during the peak holiday season of December to mid-January. The village is described as "South Africa's best kept secret".
This property is available at any time but most especially over the summer period of November to April, including Christmas and New Year.
The period of mid-January to late March has proven very attractive to people from the UK and Europe as it provides a very relaxed, warm beach-holiday get-away, an alternative to the long northern winter. Windy days are few at this time and the year-end volumes of SA holidaymakers have gone home. A lovely feeling of relaxation envelops the village at this time.
DESCRIPTION: The house/Villa comfortably accommodates 8 people. It is configured with living and entertainment areas upstairs and 4 bedrooms downstairs. This design has optimised the views and the enjoyment of the bright, airy and warm days. Bathrooms are located both upstairs and downstairs. A hot shower located in the garden, is available to wash sandy, salty bodies that come back from the beach. Bedrooms are carpeted. Living rooms are tiled. The house has its own well-treed garden and adequate parking area.
This is a modern, comfortable big family-type holiday home, enjoyed by a variety of international guests who have stayed here.
They have included Americans from Washington, Brits from Bristol, Swansea and London and Australians from Perth.
Both the property and its environment offer a very relaxed holiday for those wanting a coastal village atmosphere. It offers excellent facilities both in the house/villa itself and in the village and on its beaches. Everything is within walking distance. This is not a “high-life” destination as the nearest big city is 150Kms away. It is for those who want to relax and enjoy quieter pursuits. The Christmas/ New Year period is ideal for young people. The rest of the year is for connoisseurs.
Big-game Reserves (including the ADDO Elephant Park) and small towns are located within a radius of 30-80Kms.
SERVICING: House cleaning and laundry will be arranged locally for an extra charge, depending your requirement. (Approximate cost: 15 Pounds/day)

There will be no other costs associated with renting this Villa beyond the agent booking fee and those already outlined here, in terms of the actual rental quoted and servicing. All other costs – Electricity and Water etc. are included in the rental.
However, if damage is done to the building, furniture or appliances by the renter or his guests, costs incurred in restoring, it will be claimed from the renter.
RECREATION: The Kenton area is free of Malaria despite the fact that big game Safari parks are right on its doorstep.
Other sporting and recreational opportunities are very close (if not actually in the village). They include: Bowls, Tennis, Golf, boating, fishing, hiking, beautiful beaches, swimming, surfing, birding, horse riding and a very friendly local community and club houses.
Swimming is safe for small children in the lagoon at the Kariega rivermouth (in Kenton). Good swimming and surfing can be enjoyed on the main beach, depending on tide conditions.
The main beach has been certified as complying with the International Standard of a BLUE FLAG BEACH. This standard relates to standards of safety, water purity and beach quality. Certification has to be earned each year for each beach. This is a worthwhile assurance for visitors.
MEDICAL: Doctors, Dentists, a hospital and pharmaceutical facilities are good and easily accessed in the area.
RESTAURANTS, SUPPLIES AND INTERNET: There are a few reasonable-to-good restaurants in the area. Groceries, fishing tackle, hardware, fuel and postal services are all easily available in the village.
Internet access is available via mobile phone (G3) linkage or WiFi in the village. There is also an Internet Café.
