About the home

This house is perfect for anyone looking for a holiday in the Kenmare area. Due to its town-centre location the property is walking distance from some of the best restaurants and bars in Ireland and yet within minutes visitors can be experiencing some of Ireland's finest scenery with the Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara and the Killarney National Park nearby.

Hawthorn Lodge is arranged over two floors. Downstairs there is a large open plan sitting room with comfy leather sofa and two reclining chairs. Wood or tile floors are laid throughout the lower floor. Upstairs there are two en-suite bedrooms with individual flat screen TVs with DVD player.

There is a Satellite TV, DVD player and gas coal-effect fire. The solid wood kitchen is fully equipped and there is a dining table and chairs.

Quality bedlinen and towels are provided. One bedroom has a single and double bed for people travelling with children. A cot and high chair is available and we offer a baby sitting service. The house has gas-fired central heating.

Outside there is a patio garden and decked area with table and chairs. There is a small lawn. Secure parking is available.

Gas for central heating is charged at €5 per day during July and August and €7 per day rest of year.

Conditions

Weeks are booked from Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available on request. (short breaks unavailable for summer months)

€100 deposit is required with all bookings, balance is payable on arrival.

Hawthorn Lodge is available from 4:00pm on day of arrival and departure by 10:00am on last day, unless by prior arrangement.

The County Kerry region

County Kerry is home to some of Ireland's most beautiful scenery. Kenmare nestles between the mountains of Kerry and Cork and so is ideally situated to take advantage of this.

The weather is always mild, thanks to the Gulf stream, which makes this a good year-round destination.

The Kenmare / Kenmare Town Centre area

Kenmare is a heritage town and is packed full of brightly coloured shops, restaurants and bars. Kenmare's stone circle is within walking distance of the property and there are many more historical sites within driving distance.

Kenmare pier provides boat trips on the bay and seal watching, as well as a safe swmming. Kenmare golf course is just down the road from Hawthorn Lodge and there is another 18-hole course within a short drive.

Watersports are available and there are several excellent riding schools in the area.

Visitors can fly in Kerry, Cork, Shannon and Dublin airports and then drive to Kenmare. Ryan Air and Aer Lingus are the two most common airlines but all major airlines now fly into Ireland.

Car Rental is available at all the airports or in advance over the internet. Kenmare is easily reached by car and there is a train station in Killarney.

Buses are available to Cork and Killarney Monday to Friday (Saturday service added during July and August).
