Home description
Situated on an Island with prime position at the waters edge, the Lodge has every luxury necessary to enable you to have a perfect holiday. From the beautiful vaulted Sun Lounge & Dining Room you will have panoramic views over the Kenmare River and the famous McGillycuddy's Reeks and Caha mountain ranges, yet it is situated only a short drive off the famous Ring of Kerry, between the famous towns of Kenmare & Sneem.
With it's own private beach, you can fish off the rocks, or observe the wildlife in the rock pools. We have been lucky enough to have seen Sea Otters and Dolphins as well as the local Seals The Bull Rock Lighthouse can be seen in the distance on a clear evening 35 miles away.
If you love to walk, it is possible to explore the Island on foot and you will be breathing the cleanest air in Europe. If you can tear yourself away from the Island, there is a small bar nearby in the local Country House Hotel or many Bars in nearby Sneem and Kenmare. We recommend that you sample the amazing restaurants in Kenmare or try your hand at set dancing in the Blackwater Tavern which will be fun for all members of the family.

The County Kerry region
County Kerry, traditionally known as the 'kingdom', is situated in the extreme south-west of Ireland. Kerry has two contrasting types of terrain - the mountainous south with the Beara, Iveragh and Dingle peninsulas, and the smaller 'plains' area that stretches as far north as the Shannon estuary. Along the coast, sandy bays alternate with cliffs and rocky headlands. The famous Ring of Kerry has breathtaking scenery and is a haven for activity based holidays. Kilarney National Park has a distinctive combination of mountains, lakes, woods and waterfalls under ever changing skies gives the area a special scenic beauty. There are so many things to see, to do, to explore, to experience in the surrounding area. . . from almost 2,000 archaeological sites, to more walking than you could fit into a year. Wheather you enjoy sailing, angling, golf etc there is a wide range of activities for you to try and wherever you go you can be sure of a very warm welcome.
