The County Kerry region
Situated in the south-west corner of Ireland, Kenmare nestles between the Iveragh and Beara Peninsulas. The town is a charming mix of brightly painted shops, award-winning restaurants, fine hotels and pubs; and in addition to spectacular scenery, it has much to offer. The town is situated on the Ring of Kerry and is within easy driving distance of Killarney and the National Park, lakes and mountains.
Kenmare / Mucksna area
Kenmare is just south of Killarney, on the Ring of Kerry, so there are a mass of places to explore. For walkers, there is the Kerry Way and the Beara Way to tackle. We have a full range of Ordnance Survey maps that guests can borrow. If golf is your sport, Kenmare boasts two excellent 18-hole courses and courses in Killarney and Glengarriff mean you will never be short of a game. There are also excellent water sport facilities and horse riding nearby. We are happy to give you help and advice on what to visit in the area, and our children and pets will be pleased to see you, as well as ourselves. Of course, if you want privacy, we respect that too.
How to get there
Kenmare is easily accessible by road, rail or air. Fly to Shannon, Cork or Kerry and hire a car. Most of the major car hire companies operate from the main Irish airports. Alternatively arrive at Rosslare or Dublin ferry ports with your own car. Regular main line train services run from Dublin to Killarney which is a 40 minute drive away. There are also buses into Kenmare from Cork and Killarney every week day (Monday to Friday).
