The Province of Munster region
Kenmare is a beautiful heritage town in the south west of Ireland. Kerry is famous for the scenic drive known as the Ring of Kerry and Kenmare is ideally situated to explore this special area as it nestles in the mountains with the Iveragh and Beara Peninsulason either side of it. Kenmare is also within easy driving distance of the Killarney National Park with its lakes and mountains. The town itself is full of life and has some of Ireland's best restaurants and shops.
You will never be short of things to do when on holiday in this area. Walkers can set off in any direction from the house with access to the Kerry Way and the Beara Way nearby as well as many excellent shorter loop walks. There are two 18-hole golf courses in Kenmare and several others within easy driving distance.
There is a sailing school with a 10 minute drive where you can enjoy a range of leisure facilities include archery, horse riding, cycling, canoeing, sea or lake fishing. For a different way to explore the area, the Seafari from Kenmare pier provides for an entertaining and informative eco tour of the Kenmare Bay.
For the ladies, the Park Hotel in Kenmare has one of the top spas in Ireland.
