The Scottish Borders region

The Scottish Borders is a bustling hub of activity all year round, and offers the most vibrant, beautiful countryside as the stunning backdrop to this region. With a host of famous events including the Borders Festival of the Horse, The Borders Book Festival and the Jim Clark Rally to name but a few, there is always something to entertain. Floors Castle, Scotland's largest inhabited castle is just on our doorstep, and the famous River Tweed offers world class salmon fishing for some very famous faces! The cycling and walking routes around here are second to none and with Edinburgh just a 1 hour drive away, the city life is still within easy reach. With riverside walks on the doorstep and all of the wonderful delights of Kelso just minutes away, we provide something for everyone at Kersmains. Whether you plan to fish, walk, cycle or shop, Kersmains provides the perfect base for your visit to the Scottish Borders. A touch of luxury in tranquil surroundings; we look forward to welcoming you to Kersmains.

Kelso

The quaint cobbled market town of Kelso is just 3 miles from Kersmains, and offers a host of unique boutique shops, award winning restaurants and of course the famous Kelso Races ('Britain's friendliest race course'). Floors Castle and Kelso Abbey offer some ancient history as well as breathtaking sights, and visitors just love watching the salmon leap along the River Tweed from Teviot Bridge.

If golfing is your favoured sport- then the championship Roxburghe Golf Course lies just across the river, and is a short 10 minute drive from Kersmains.

"Lovely, cozy place to stay!"

We loved having so much space all to ourselves, and the wood-fired stove made it so cozy! Will definitely recommend it to our friends, and thanks again Ashley for the warm welcome :)

"Excellent welcoming cottage"

The Bothy is unique. Lovely welcome from owners and luxurious accommodation, in lounge with roaring log burning stove and large leather settees and chairs to sink into, and in the bedroom and en-suite with well chosen furniture, accessories and decoration. It was a treat to breakfast in the spacious conservatory or sit on a settee, reading some of the books and magazines provided.

It is well positioned for sight seeing.

"Borders Break"

Really nice welcome by the hosts and really good accommodation. Having your own private lounge and conservatory makes the stay so much more relaxing and so much better than a traditional B&B. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely consider it again the next time that I am travelling to the area.
