About the home
The view of the lake and the mountains beyond is absolutely breathtaking. A large 16x32 foot private heated pool beckons on those renowned hot, sunny Okanagan summer days and also features the same incredible view. The six person private hot tub is a great place to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets over the lake and mountains. It is just a 10 minute walk down the hill to a very quiet pebble beach where a canoe awaits you, lake walking trails and a safe harbour to launch a boat. Wood Lake with a gorgeous sandy beach is a 12 minute drive from the house.
Casa del Sol is designed to take full advantage of the setting. The main level is all glass on the west side. As a result, the kitchen/dining/living open concept main area, as well as the master bedroom, all have fabulous views. A spacious wrap around deck runs the whole west side of the house and is a lovely place for cocktail hour. The lower walkout level also features lake views from the entertainment room and each of the two bedrooms.
There are two full baths downstairs, a very large en suite in the master bedroom upstairs as well as a powder room off the front entry.
2 adult bikes at house for your use. Crib in guest bedroom. Booster seat and 2 baby gates provided. Huge barbeque a lots of table and chairs outside to enjoy your meals and lots of patio chairs and loungers at pool.
The home is located in an area of orchards, vineyards and forest just above the charming village of Okanagan Centre. The Kelowna International Airport is only fifteen minutes away. Car rental is available at this airport. Closer still is the town of Winfield, where you can find groceries, liquor stores, pharmacies, and other daily needs. The resort city of Kelowna, 25 minutes to the south, boasts fabulous restaurants, shops and entertainment.

There is no overnight moorage near Casa de Sol. The closest overnight moorage would be in Kelowna which is 25 minutes away. There is an excellent boat launch only 1 mile from the house and it also includes a safe harbor for loading and unloading.The pool is 16 feet by 32 feet and it 3 /12 feet at shallow end and 7 1/2 end at deep end. We have a canoe down at the lake for your use. Life jackets provided.

Damage deposit of $500.00 required to hold reservation. The owner will then hold the reservation for 10 days pending receipt of the damage deposit. Cancellation Policy - We will refund deposit if we are able to re-rent the same time period. Full rent is due 30 days prior to arrival. If you cancel within 30 days and we are not able to re-rent we will retain the full rent and damage deposit. Full rent must be received 30 days prior to rental or we will retain the damage deposit and you will lose your rental dates.
Damage deposit returned after the property manager does his walk through and reports to us. We do not rent to groups of young people. WE ONLY RENT TO PARTIES OF 6 ADULTS OR A PARTY OF 8 WHICH INCLUDES CHILDREN. (I.E. 4 ADULTS AND 4 CHILDREN). Check-in time is 4:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:00 am. There will be a list of check out procedures at the house. We request that the garbage cans are taken outside of the garage to the driveway, the dishwasher and bedding started, the fridge cleaned out of all items and wiped out and the barbeque cleaned. $100.00 will be deducted from your damage deposit if the cleaners have to clean the barbeque.
The house does not accommodate larger parties. As well it is too hard on the septic and water system to have larger parties at one time.
ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ALLOWED. If our property manager reports a pet at the house you will be asked to leave and no monies will be refunded or if there is animal hair in the house when cleaning is done your damage deposit will not be refunded.

The Kelowna / Okanagan Centre area
Opportunities for recreation abound. There are half a dozen world class golf resorts in the Kelowna area, of which two, Predator Ridge and Okanagan Golf Resort are within twenty minutes of Casa del Sol. Jack Nicklaus and Les Furber – two golf greats – have designed magnificent courses in the Okanagan. An extended golf season (March through October) makes the area one of North America’s favourite golf destinations. The golf courses incorporate rolling hills, orchards and vineyards.
There are three clean fresh water lakes in the region, Okanagan, Wood and Kalamalka. All feature sandy beaches, swimming, water skiing, boating, sailing, fishing and snorkeling. Casa del Sol comes complete with a canoe and paddles for your use at no extra charge. In the winter, the ski resorts of Big White and Silverstar are both only 1 hour away.
The Okanagan is renowned for its numerous outstanding wineries. One of the best, Gray Monk, is just down the road from Casa del Sol. On site is the Grapevine Restaurant which we highly recommend. The restaurant features a large outdoor patio with a great view of the lake.
The Winfield Creek Wildlife Preserve is a nine-acre preserve which contains walking trails and lots of wildlife, including up to 50 species of birds. Lake Country Museum is located at Okanagan Centre Park. You can walk to it from the house. Artifacts are housed in a former school house. Part of the school house has been turned into a quaint coffee shop with delicious pastries and an outdoor patio. You can also walk to the OK Centre corner store where you must try their Hokey Pokey Ice Cream!
Okanagan wine country offers delightful wine tasting adventures. The area is dotted with award-winning wineries.
You will encounter a patchwork of farms and agricultural attractions. You can get a wonderful feel for the thriving agricultural industry with visits to orchards, farms and wineries. In the specialty shops, bakeries and restaurants, you will see freshly baked pies, and jams and jellies made from the fruit right off the trees. Apples, apricots, cherries, peaches, pears, prunes and plums!
You can always stock up on these harvested good at the local fruit stands and Farmer’s Markets.
The mix of vineyards, orchards and organic farms in the Okanagan provide award-winning restaurants that offer scenic beauty and the finest or casual dining experiences.
WINE FESTIVALS
The Annual Okanagan Fall Wine Festival is an experience for all who love fabulous wine accompanied by great food and unique events. KETTLE VALLEY RAILWAY – MYRA CANYON
The world-famous Myra Canyon is located approximately 18 kilometres southeast of downtown Kelowna.
The old Kettle Valley Railway bed in Myra Canyon is a great ride for cyclists of all abilities. Remnant trestles and tunnels make the route especially appealing.
In all, the collective trail system exceeds 600km in length. Most of the trail network runs through true wilderness areas broken up by small towns and flourishing cities.
