About the home

This beautiful Villa is set in a stunning location with beautiful views of Sami and the nearby island of Ithaca. It sleeps 6 people comfortably set within a secluded garden in a very tranquil enviroment.

Remote control air conditioning is available within all living spaces of the Villa

Villa Pelagia enjoys a central position on the island and ensures easy access to Kefalonia's airport, the capital of Argostoli and other major attractions which include the cave/lake of Melissani, famous Myrtos Beach and the beautiful little port of Fiskardo.

Activities available locally are sailing, diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, cycling, walking and a good deal of lazing about around the pool drinking in the beautiful views! There are plenty of delightful restaurants, bars and cafes within a short drive in Karavomilos, Agia Efimia and Poulata.

Three kilometres away, the bustling port of Sami has banks, post office, medical centre, tourist office, supermarkets and shops. However, the charm of Villa Pelagia is its stunning views of the Ionian Sea, and the port of Sami and its idyllic location...

The Villa was a case study in the November 2009 edition of the Places in the Sun Magazine which ran a feature on Kefalonia and detailed our reasons for building this Villa. " We had our dream home built on Kefalonia"

Facilities

Further details indoors:
The open plan living area has been equipped with comfort in mind and all the conveniences you would expect from a high class villa, there is a TV with DVD player and also a docking station for an IPOD within the lounge area. A log burning stove is in this room.
The kitchen is equipped and designed to a very high standard with a table and chairs for six people.
There are three double bedrooms equipped with ample fitted wardrobes and hairdryers in all of the bedrooms.
The main bedroom is en suite and the further two bedrooms share a bathroom between them.

For your convenience there is a further bathroom in the sunny large basement below , which also houses the washing machine and excellent storage space if required.

Our villa was designed by us and the project was managed by our agent Spyros, it was completed in July 2009 and we are extremely pleased with the end result.

Further details outdoors:
There is a very large terrace overlooking the private swimming pool which houses a table for al fresco dining and is partially sheltered for comfort.

There is a large patio area which houses a 7m x 4m infinity pool which is ideal to cool off after relaxing in the sun. There are also six sun loungers and a barbecue on this level for outside cooking.

The lower garden area has another patio area and various shrubs from which you can still enjoy the stunning views.
Within the secure garden there is adequate parking for two cars.

The villa has twice weekly maid service and a welcome pack on arrival. The pool and gardens are fully maintained. Our guests are welcomed by our Agent Spyros Dorizas.

The Ionian Islands region

This stunning location is the ideal holiday destination for families, friends or couples. The high temperatures are made comfortable by cool breezes particularly in the afternoons (great for sailors and windsurfers). May and September are very lovely months to spend in Kefalonia with warm days and cool nights.

There is a variety of places well worth a visit all over the island. Of course, Argostoli, (where the airport is located) with its shops, museums and vibrant waterfront should not be missed. There is also the lovely harbour of Fiskardo & Assos, a charming little harbour with a castle towering over it. There are the island’s vineyards, the most famous of which is the Robola Vineyard – and close by this is the Monastery of Agios Gerassimos.

The Kefalonia / Sami area

Sami is a charming town and port - the main port of the island. There are beautiful walks all around the town, particularly to the lighthouse, the beautiful beach of Antisamos and (if you don't mind a bit of a climb) to the town's own Acropolis, some fascinating ancient ruins which are still undergoing excavations.

There is a very good riding school just outside the town. There are tennis courts at Karavomolis.

At Antisamos beach, there are all the usual beach attractions - windsurfing, pedalos, water-sking, etc.

However, the main attraction of Sami and its surrounding area is its delightful gentle pace, the olive groves, the sound of sheep and goat bells and just enjoying the wonderful views in any direction you care to look.

New for 2012 Easy Jet now flies from Gatwick to Kefalonia Saturday and Tuesday, book early for great deals! Charter Flights (Thomas Cook ,Thompsons etc) direct to Kefalonia from May1st-30th October.

Scheduled flights Aegean Air London Stansted via Athens and Olympic Airways from Athens twice daily.

Easy jet fly from Gatwick and Luton to Athens.

Ferries from Patras on the mainland and from Italy from Bari , Brindsi and Venice direct to Sami.

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Villa Pelagia! As a holiday home it is actually very difficult to pick fault with anything!!! Sami is the most beautiful and idyllic location, offering absolutely everything a young family could ever wish for. However, Chaliotata is as near perfect a holiday destination as I or my fiancé could ever dream of! You seem to have thought of everything we could ever need or wish for.
Spyros deserves special mention. He could not be more accommodating or hospitable and he is a real asset. Also, we cannot recommend the grill Taverna in Poulata highly enough; excellent food, superb service and such reasonable prices!!!
Thank you so much for allowing us to share your Cephalonian dream Villa. We very much hope that we will return very soon.

We had a lovely holiday and have fallen in love with Kefalonia. What a beautiful island and so much to see and do - we hardly touched the surface - we had to get some sunbathing in!
Your villa is stunning - the views are amazing and I can see why you chose the village and the location. Real luxury and the best shower I have ever had in Greece! You really have thought of everything and we really appeciated it all.
We thought Spiros was lovely and very helpful -. We wish we could have stayed for two weeks.
We would love to go back to the island and I can see why you fell in love with it.

We all had a fantastic holiday. It was simply great waking up each morning and not having to worry about the weather - the sky was always a brilliant blue and the sun was shining - the sort of weather that great, relaxing hoidays are made of. The villa was idyllic, nestling into the hills and overlooking Sami it was a beautiful and relaxing spot- distrubed only occasionally by the bells jangling around the goats necks as they made their way down at the end of the day. Sitting around the pool was a superb way to relax, a gentle breeze refreshed us and we could watch the swallows dipping into the pool for a drink -a fantastic sight and never have I seen so many swallows together!. It was also a fantastic spot for sitting out on the balcony as the night drew in, watching the twinkling lights across in Ithaca and taking in the many thousands of stars that could be easily seen as there was no light pollution - the sky was simply an inky black.
Moving around the island there were some fantastic beaches - the shingly coves best for snorkelling - we found some beautifully coloured fish - all the colours of the rainbow, the like of which we've not seen on any of the other islands so far!
Wherever we went it was always great knowing we were coming back to the villa - the children could play in the pool, we could chill out with a book and there were no queues or cold showers when it came to getting ready to go out or stay in with the bbq. A fantastic location - we all loved Sami and the many delights of the local shops - wine and lemon ice cream being a few of our favourites - and the villa enabled us to relax and make the most of our holiday! We will be returning!!

We enjoyed a lovely holiday on Kefalonia and got to see and do quite a bit whilst there as well as some much needed chilled time.

I’m sorry that I hadn’t got around to emailing you already since we got back (work had rather built up during my absence). Lucy and I absolutely adored our week in the Villa. The setting was breathtaking and we loved sitting outside in the evenings and admiring the view. There is nothing constructive that we can add I’m afraid because we thought it was perfect! We have already let it be widely known to our friends that we can now advise them on an ideal week’s summer holiday.

Sorry, have been meaning to email to thank you for letting us rent the house. We didn't write in the guest book as we completely ran out of time!

The villa was lovely, very well equipped and comfortable and in a great position. Although with so much to see on the island we didn't really spend enough time in the house.

We thought Sami was a great place to be based. The local shops and restaurants were good and it was near to two of the best beaches - Myrtos and Antisamos.

Being so centrally located it made it very easy to get up to Fiscardo and Assos but also across to Argostoli and down to the south coast.

We even hopped over to Ithaca on the ferry for the day.

Everything about the villa and the island was superb, even down to Spiros the keyholder who was very friendly and helpful.

So thanks again, we all had a fantastic holiday and are deeply envious of you owning a house in such a wonderful place Jacqueline Gray Sep 2010

We had a great holiday on a fascinating island with great beaches, crystal clear sea, interesting places to visit all unspoiled by mass tourism. Paul and Jane's villa is stunning and very well appointed. It occupies a great position with fabulous views of the coast and the neighbouring island of Ithaca. The villa's infinity pool is superb. Our two weeks flew by and we were most reluctant to leave.

Judy and I had the most wonderful time. We loved the location of the villa with such spectacular views and its spacious interior. The trip to Ithaca was very special and something that I would do again.
Sami town spoils one for choice of eating, I think we did most of the reataurants along the Harbour front and also a few in Karavamilos. The little place in Poulata was great. We saw the children's choir in Sami and also traditional entertainment and Greek Dancing.
