Kefalonia is a beautiful island, very green with spectacular sea views and mountain scenery. Karavados is a charming village situated near the south-west coast within easy reach of a superb selection of sandy beaches with clear turquoise seas. Also within easy reach are many traditional Greek Tavernas, one within walking distance.

There are many places of interest to visit from underground lakes and caves with stalactites and stalagmites to St Gerasimos Monastery with its stunning murals. Myrtos beach is one of the most photographed beaches in the world.

A holiday on Kefalonia is definitely a sunshine holiday, it only rains approximately 30 days in every year.

Kefalonia

Many of the island's beaches offer a range of watersports facilities and horseriding facilities are also available. The island offers a number of historic tourist attractions including St George's Castle and the ruins of a Venetian fort at Assos.

Argostoli, the island's capital, has a bustling city square and a wide selection of bars, tavernas and shops. Ferries can be taken from Argostoli to Lixouri, on the island's western peninsula. Giant turtles can be found in Argostoli Bay patrolling the fishing boats for titbits whilst the local fishermen sell their daily catches each morning to the public at the harbour's edge.

Ferries can also be used to island-hop to Ithaca, Zakynthos and Lefkas.

"A peaceful villa in an excellent location"

An extremely comfortable and well-equipped villa with a good pool. The pool area is private and well-sighted, giving some areas of shade during the day whilst allowing sun worshippers a complete fix.
The villa is within 20 minutes of the airport, great for getting into the holiday quickly. Argostoli 15-20 mins so shopping etc no problems at all. There are lots of good beaches close by and a great choice of local tavernas and restaurants within short driving distance. Fabulous views across the Ionian Sea to Zakynthos.
We will certainly return.

"Fantastic villa, lovely location, couldn't fault it!!"

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Villa Marbirini. From first contact, the owners have been more than helpful and very prompt in replying to queries. Before the holiday we received a v. detailed info pack with everything we could need to know about the island, villa, local amenities etc. The villa was spotlessly clean, comfortable and one of the best equipped we have stayed in - home from home. The owners representatives met us on arrival and were v. helpful - cleaning and laundry changes were done efficiently and discreetly. Fabulous clean pool, meticulously maintained every day, usually before most people surfaced.
We loved the local St Thomas' beach but Myrthos is stunning and well worth a visit on the way to Firskardo. Argostoli great for wonderful fruit and veg and a fantastic bakery - don't miss seeing the giant turtles in the bay.
Local taverna Happiness, great value and friendly but favourite The Olive Tree.
Kefalonia is a beautiful island and Villa Marbirini the perfect place to stay. No hesitation in recommending it - we hope to return!

"Wonderful base for a holiday"

Villa Marbirini provided us with a wonderful holiday. We've stayed in loads of villas in many countries and this was definitely one of the best. Important things such as cleanliness, pool hygiene, and cookking utensils were all oustanding. We nearly stayed in or near Fiskardo but ended up booking this villa instead not having visited Kefalonia before. We were lucky. It is a long way to Fiskardo and the south part of the island provides a much better base for your holiday.

All in all we can really recommend, the villa, the owners, the agents who met us and the island.

Greatr holiday

"Brilliant villa with everything you need!"

Our enquiries to the owners were always answered very quickly and the information we received was very accurate and honest - this is a professional service. On arrival the villa was very clean and well presented and with an excellent 'welcome' hamper, which was a nice touch. We were met on time, made very welcome and shown how everything worked. The representatives were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. When the party split into two groups we gave our son the front door key, which he thought didn't work so they got us new keys cut immediately.

The villa itself is excellent and has every facility and appliance we needed. Everything was in A1 condition and everywhere was spotless. It is extremely well looked after and can't be faulted. It is very spacious and considering there were five adults it did not feel crowded. It is very well set out, has all the facilities you need for a holiday and has a lovely ambience. It is very easy to chill out and relax. The pool is great and was cleaned every day - the ladies particularly enjoyed watching the pool man! The area around the pool is nicely laid out with plenty of sunbeds, chairs, etc. Touring the island was a great adventure - lots to see and do and we didn't cover all of it. We were emailed a copy of the villa information pack before our holiday. It was very useful and was used to plan our days out and dining options. We used the BBQ twice and it was a pleasant alternative. The men cooked and the ladies relaxed and were pampered.

If we were to visit the island again then we would definitely consider using the villa again! We would highly recommend it to all. Thanks for a lovely holiday!

"Lovely Island, Excellent accomodation"

-One of the most enjoyable aspects of our stay at Villa Marbirini was having a 'home for home' with all the facilities we needed. The island itself is quiet and relaxing and the Greek roads don't disappoint, they are 'lovely' to drive!

Everything ran smoothly right from our first enquiry - when we booked the service was very efficient, we received lots of information before we travelled and on arrival we were met on time and received a warm welcome. The villa was very clean and well-presented and all the facilities both indoors and outdoors exceeded our expectations. We particularly enjoyed the experience of Greek night, with Greek buffet and dancing on Thursday evening at Andromeda.

We would definitely recommend the villa and consider returning there in future. The villa was all the owners said it would be and we had a very relaxing time. Thanks for your efficiency and a most enjoyable holiday…
