Home description
If you stay at our luxury two bedroom two bathroom townhouse you will have uninterrupted views of the sea from all rooms. You will be able to have breakfast on the sea- facing balcony just outside your bedroom and in the evening to dine alfesco under the moonlight on the large sea facing terrace. For a dessert pick some fresh peaches or nectarines from the fruit trees in front of you or just enjoy the aroma of jasmine and honeysuckle on the patio.
If the heat becomes too much you can either cool off in the large communal pool, drink and book on the table by your side or next to the sea relax to the sound of the waves crashing gently on the rocks below you. Walk downhill two hundred yards to the private small sea area which forms part of the complex. Stretch out on the sun loungers or turn on the air conditioning and view the scenery from the large picture windows. Watch the sailing boats floating leisurely by, in the distance. At night watch the full moon, its reflection bathing in the sea stretching far into the night. Use the gas fired barbecue for the fresh fish bought locally and flavour it with oregano and other herbs which grow at the patio and in the garden.
Watch the sailing boats drifting past from the large terrace
a view to die for!

The Ionian Islands region
The Ionian sea is part of the Mediterranean sea lying between Greece, Sicily and Italy. The Ionian islands also known as the Eptanissa (seven islands) is a very fertile and lush area covered in pine, cypress and fields of flowers in the spring months. The climate is excellent with dry hot summers and hence guaranteed sunshine from May to the end of November and rainy ,mild winters. Kefalonia's mountainous scenery produces some dramatic scenery and is famous for producing a particular grape the robola which yields some excellent dry white wines The architecture features red-tiled houses in eclectic French or Italian styles.
Kefalonia / Skala area
Kefalonia was once voted the tenth most beautiful place in the world and has some of the most spectacular beaches, the most famous being Myrtos beach which featured in the film Captain Corelli's mandolin and Skala beach consistently blue flag rated is a long sandy beach backed by pine woods and is great for kids. There is a lot to see on the whole island including the Melissani lake which is an underwater lake of the most unusual striking blue, the Drogorati caves thought to be 150 million years old but discovered only 100 years ago, the church of Agios Gerassimos which lies in a beautiful valley and houses the remains of the miraculous saint, the small island of Ithaca (birthplace of Ulysses) which can be visited on a day trip.
Every little village you pass through has its own unique character and is prettier and more picturesque than the next. Skala itself is in the south of the island and has a lovely long sandy beach(blue flag) stretching for miles. The village itself has a variety of shops for provisions and some excellent restaurants some directly overlooking the sea.On the road to the villa which is just outside Skala on the road to Poros, there are some more restaurants including a famous landmark the Penelope a restaurant in the form of an ancient ship overlooking the sea.Various shady coves for swimming or relaxing can be found all the way along the road. The area contains some lovely walking either directly following the sea or up to the area of old Skala for an unmatched view.
How to get there
Fly by direct charter to Kefallinia airport from early May to end of October from all parts of the UK.Alternatively fly to Athens then ferry to Poros or Argostoli.
