The house, set in a beautifully landscaped garden with private pool, is finished to the highest standard with an Italian kitchen with marble work surfaces, mosquito screens on doors and windows, fully tiled bathrooms, fireplace and air conditioning. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Two have their own private balconies.
The outdoor terrace, reached through two sets of doors from the living room, overlooks the pool and garden. The dining area, with its own doors and balcony overlooks the garden and barbecue. The Ionian Islands region
Kefalonia's beauty is unsurpassed due to the magnificent Mount Ainos and its varied coastline. The island is famous for the Melissani Lake, home of Odysseus's nymphs, the Drogarati Cave, the harbour of Fiskardo, its private coves and sandy beaches, all with clear turquoise waters. Kefalonian history goes back 40,000 years but it is the Myceneans who have left many ancient sites the legacy of Homer's Odyssey. Venetian castles attest to the four hundred year presence of the Venetians whose influence has given the island an Italian feel.
The winter rains mean that the island is more lush and green than most other Greek islands but summer brings heat and sun with the clear light that makes Greece renowned. Olive and citrus groves as well as many vineyards cover the gentle slopes and valleys, contrasting with the rugged mountains and dramatic cliffs.
Kefalonia / Pessada area
The villa is located on the edge of the village of Pessada in the Livathos district on the south coast. Pessada is a quiet village with a strong seafaring tradition with many beautiful old gardens, gates, and stone ruins. The local winery has a cafe/wine bar where you can sample local village life.
Livathos is considered one of the most beautiful areas of Kefalonia with many pretty villages, sandy beaches and olive groves. There are many wonderful walks surrounding the villa through olive groves and valleys where the sound of sheep bells is as common as those of the local church. The local sandy cove, undiscovered by tourists, is reached by a stone stairway. The area is dotted with villages with many tavernas just a few minutes drive away. Two supermarkets, 5 kilometres away and the many bustling shops, markets, and restaurants of Argostoli, 12 kilometres away, can provide all your needs.
How to get there
From May to October, charter flights fly direct several times a week from numerous airports in Britain and Northwest Europe direct to Kefalonia National Airport. There are daily direct flights from Athens. We will be happy to provide information on car hire and a recommended travel agent on the island if requested

Further details indoors: The villa is extra large with an area of 180 square metres so guests have room to spread out. Our goal has been to create a home away from home, a truly comfortable place to return to after a day of sight seeing around the island or to spend relaxing around the pool. All bedrooms are furnished with top-of-the line luxury mattresses imported from Canada, have en suite bathrooms and are air conditioned. The fourth bathroom is in a convenient location on the main floor near the pool. The master bedroom has an extra large king size bed. All bathrooms are are fully tiled and finished to the highest standard. Three have large glass and tile shower enclosures. The master bath has a jacuzzi tub and double sinks in a vanity with marble surface.
Further details outdoors: The fully tiled pool is designed at 10 metres in length to allow lap swimming as well as general use. Our pool maintenance is second to none with the waters always crystal clear. The stone patio area around it is furnished with sun umbrella and lounge chairs for six. The stone barbecue off the dining room is large enough for cooking for six. Besides the private balconies off two of the bedrooms, the house has a wonderful large private covered balcony offering stunning views of Mount Ainos and down the coast. This can either be your private getaway or a place to share morning coffee or a bottle of Kefalonia's famous robola wine. At night, the lights of the villages along the coast are rivaled only by the stars.
The three sets of double doors from the main floor lead to patios and private garden that has been landscaped with many bougainvillea, roses, lavender, honeysuckle, jasmine, bird of paradise, and numerous fruit trees. After viewing the moonrise over Mount Ainos, calm descends.
