"GREAT VILLA WITH FABULOUS VIEWS- 5 STARS- Only minutes from the the small airport yet so peaceful. If you are looking for a larger villa for your family, smashing pool and with a choice of restaurants a short stroll away in a laid back village, this is the place for you. Don't be put off by a a couple of steepish roads getting there, that is quite normal for the island. Once we were installed the view from the balconies across towards the horizon where the blue and even bluer sea took my breath away. The villa is modern, clean and tastefully furnished with good air con. We really enjoyed the outside eating area by the BBQ, again with a view. The information booklet was very useful, it contained a list of places to eat and visit, great for a first timer to the island. You will need a car to get around properly but well worth it. We stayed in early September, the weather was perfect with lovely balmy evenings."
"GORGEOUS VILLA IN A FANTASTIC LOCATION- 5 STARS-This summer I enjoyed a fantastic holiday with friends while staying in Villa Paradeisos! The villa was immaculately presented, cleaned and cared for; with stunning views, a lovely pool, several living spaces and gorgeous bedrooms. We were spoilt for choice when choosing a place to eat in the evenings - the restaurants in the village are lovely and offer a wide variety of cuisine. Lassi beach is also well worth a visit as it boasts a fab beach, restaurants and a range of activities such as banana boats! I would recommend the villa and Kefalonia itself to my friends and family as both cater for people of all ages. Thanks so much for a lovely holiday!" Amy
"AMAZING VILLA- 5 STARS- I had an amazing time at the villa- it was really clean and modern and each room was decorated beautifully! The pool was spacious and everything was provided for: there were DVDs, inflatables for the pool and all the kitchen appliances/utensils you could need. The villa also has multiple balconies and a roofed eating area which means there are plenty of spaces to eat/ relax in the evening and to admire the spectacular sea view. You are only 5- 10 minutes drive away from the airport which is really convenient for any early morning flights and a 10 minute drive from the capital (Argostoli) which is full of excellent restaurants and shops. Lakithra itself, is a very pretty village which has some great places to eat and a small shop for any essentials. You are also very close to a large number of beaches. I would not hesitate to recommend Villa Paradeisos or Kefalonia to anyone as it is a great place to holiday for friends and families alike."

The Ionian Islands region
Lakithra is known for its advantageous location and warm climate. In the village there is a sumptuous bakery, convenient mini-markets, George's Bar, excellent restaurants, tavernas and a endless pretty churches. High in the hills there are the most spectacular, panoramic, rural and coastal views which inspired Lord Byron during his stay in Metaxata. Lord Byron used to copmpose poems with a view to the Ionian sea, sitting at Byron's rock.Lord Byron's rock can be found in Lakithra village!
The village of Lakithra is a settlement of traditional homes and villas. Here - on a magnificent lush site with unhindered views of Argostoli and it's bay and across to the impressive high peaks of Mt. Aenos and within 6 minutes from the island's capital - is the ideal location for holiday quarters. The international airport is only a few minutes' drive away.
Lakithra is an ideal base for excursions and visits to any destination within the island. Some of Kefalonia's prettiest beaches are in the Lakithra vicinity including Avithos, Ai Helis and Ammes in Livatho and Makris and Platis Gialos in the direction of Argostoli. Other beaches, such as Karavados, Pessada, and Lourdas are only a short drive away.
Argostoli, the capital is just 2km away and is a lively, cosmopolitan town with an exciting atmosphere, numerous bars, restaurants and modern shops.
Kefalonia- A cocktail of myths and mystery, within an area of 688sq.km. It is the largest of the seven Ionian islands but with around only 45,000 inhabitants, it is not the most populated. The island is largely unspoilt with low- profile tourism., a very low crime rate and a rich cultural heritage.Lying almost opposite the entrance to the Gulf of Patras, it is located between Leftkas to the north and Zakynthos(Zante), in the south. Mountains dominate the island with the highest peak Mt. Ainos,in the south reaching an altitude of 1.626m. but there are as many as 10 peaks topping 900m.
There was a time when Mount Ainos was heavily forested with Abies Cephalonica(the endemic, unique kefalonian fir)In mass the trees look very dark which led the Venetians to call this range 'Monte Nero' or 'The Black Mountain'This area has been declared as a National Park. Flowers abound in spring- orchids being especially prominent, some 31 different species, recorded so far.The fauna is surprisingly good too: foxes, hares, weasels, pine martens and hedgehogs. Tortoises are around in great numbers. A jumble of scenic cameos follow one by one around an indented coastline with picturesque headlands, bays, peninsulas inlets within inlets and beaches of silver and gold.
Because of its huge, natural wealth, Kefalonia was, like all the other Ionian islands, dominated by various civilizations such as the Byzantine, the Frankish, the Ottoman, the Venetian but also the Napoleonic and the British Empires. During WW2, Kefalonia was under Italian and German domination and the capitulation of Italy led to the massacre of 5000 it inspired the writer 'Louis de Bernieres' to pen the famous novel 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin', which became a hollywood movie. Apart from the capital Argostoli, Kefalonia has a wealth of small resorts and picturesque villages where you can relax, enjoy the beach, catch some sight seeing, delve into Myceanean history, eat well and feel content!
